Fleming Island Golf Club
About
The Golf Club at Fleming Island has a diverse landscape that allows for two distinctly different nines. The front nine of the golf course is wide open with waste areas and wetlands to create a classic links feeling. In contrast, the back nine was carved from dense forests, giving a more secluded atmosphere. There are sand bunkers strategically placed across the rolling landscape and water comes into play throughout. The fairways on this golf course are misleading, they are not as tight as they seem from the tees. Although the Golf Club at Fleming Island can be a challenge, there are five sets of tees to accommodate all skill levels.

Excellent greens. Great staff
Always have a nice time at Fleming. The greens were in fabulous shape. Fairways and bunkers nearly perfect as well. A couple of tee boxes could surely use some work, but the layout and conditions were more than up to the standard for what a round costs.
Too much sand
Recent reviews gave this place 5 stars. I wonder if those were paid reviews? Every green and tee box is covered in sand. If has been raining forget it, the raw sand cart paths become mud holes.
VERY Positive
I last played Fleming Island pre-Covid. It was kind of a dust bowl at the time and I hadn't been back till yesterday. What a difference. Fairways were excellent, just 1 green with sand in recovery mode, extremely frieldly and helpful starter.
What really made the day playing as a single was the group behind coming up on the 3rd hole and inviting me to play with them. Great bunch and let me know they had a seni9or game at 10 week days.
Definitely will be back.
hot day
it jus happen to be the hottest day of the week.. but the first 3 holes I was off the fairway, and it was deep, so that was the wake up. stay in the fairway. after that I got better . the greens are like carpet, absolutely fantastic. had a great time. would play again.
Very Good
My 1st time playing this course. It was in excellent condition. Greens were a little slow but not surprising for this heat. Fairways and rough were very nice. Will definitely come back again.
Always nice
Unless the weather has been crazy Fleming is always in about as good shape as you can find for a public course that gets so much play. A favorite for a reason.
Stay Away!
Awful staff. If the members don’t like your pace of play they call the PGA pro there to complain. Avoid this course!!
Excellent condition
One of the best conditioned courses in Jax area right now. Would definitely play again. The only thing to say was pace of play. 4hr 45 min round was a little slow but not awful. But when rounds get close to 5 hrs then it gets a little annoying - and we definitely saw a ranger come by 2-3 times checking on groups. I guess we were just behind a slow group that didn’t pay attention to people behind them - especially since they weren’t waiting on anyone all day in front of them like we were. The only thing I didn’t love about the course was one hole on back nine where there’s a short par 4 that’s drivable and the tee box is right in the bailout area. Sure enough, once we got on the tee box a ball flew right over our heads and landed right in the box. Then a second one landed 20 ft away. Not the safest design. It needs a protective net barrier for sure. Definitely a danger zone. If guy yelled fore, you couldn’t hear it because of distance. Other than that the course itself was in excellent shape.
