Duran Golf Club - Championship Course

We had lunch at the club house prior to our round. The staff was very friendly and ensured that our meal was out and we were in time for our tee time. The course staff was on the ball when we made our way to the starter and they got us out on the course ahead of our tee time. The course was in great shape and the pin placements for each hole was noted in the cart, there plenty of yardage markers on the water sprinkler heads that showed front, middle, and back yardage. That made it easy for club selection. The pace of play was very fast. after we finished our round the staff cleaned our clubs and carried our clubs to our car for us. The staff was very focused on our experience and made sure that we were enjoying our round.

was a windy day think that might be normal for course but they need a few marshals to keep pace of play up at one point there were five groups waiting to play one hole on back nine

Played an afternonn round at the conclusion of a late finishing scramble. The staging area for the afternoon players was chaotic as all players were to start at the same time(shotgun start).However once on the course, all the hassles were erased by the beauty & challanges of this great course. Seems like there are no straight in putts any where on the course.Can't wait to play here again.

Course is in great shape, fun to play and recommend it highly.

The layout is not really overwhelming… Most holes have wide fairways and even though there is somehow water on every hole, it mostly can be avoided, even on a very windy day like we had today. Greens are mostly huge, some are undulated, fairly fast but with the wind not easy to read.. Fairways and bunkers well maintained. But somehow, the course is a little bit “boring” as it really does not have holes that are outstanding. It is just a good wide course (with almost no trees), but nothing special to it. Although the pace was not bad, we had to wait on every hole somehow. No Player’s assistant out there to watch the play… The staff is different – Pro Shop and starter very cordial and helpful, bag drop and cart return either “highflyers” – means lot of talking and joking, but not much caring… Overall – it is a good golf course, well maintained and playable, but not really a must.

The greens are totally unfair for ANY amateur, even good players.
They state there are 3 pin placements, #1, #2, & #3. That is an absolute joke. Who ever accepted the design of these rediculasly undulating greens had NO plans or interest to allow the paying public to have fun or enjoy a round of golf.
No plans to ever play this course again AND I have already stated my opinion to other interested holders. If your interested, I have a hdcp. index of 7.2.

Other than the wind, enjoyed the course, however, being in a foursome followed by 3 twosomes was a bit odd. We kept having to let them play thru instead of being hit into.

nothing special here but a good course for the money and a definite "warm up" course.

This is a very nice but challenging course. There is plenty of sand and plenty of water so if you enjoy a day at the beach this place is for you! The greens and fairways were very well maintained and the cart girl made sure to come by often. They have a great practice facility with a range and par 3 course. A very nice lounge and restaurant await you after your round and a fully stocked pro shop has any thing you need before. The play was a little slow but steady. ENJOY!

Greens were in great shape and supper fast. Had to have patience as the place was packed and play was extremely slow.

We played this course because we had never played any courses in the area and it came highly recommended by other reviewers. Fairways were not in as good of shape as others that we played while staying in the Port St. Lucie area, but the course was very fair even though there were many water holes. Personnel was friendly throughout, and we even got a great recommendation for dinner (River Rocks) on the water in Melbourne.

Course is well maintained but the staff was horrible. On the 9th hole, the people behind me hit me with their drive. The player who hit me said i deserved to be hit AGAIN because i was a single player(i know, it didn't make any sense to me either). I couldn't of played any faster, as i had to wait for the group ahead of me to finish, so i don't hit the group ahead of me. When, i told the staff that the player behind me said I deserved to be hit AGAIN, their answer to the problem was to make that group go ahead of me on the 10th hole rather than telling the player talk like this will not be tolerated at this course. Despite the players and the staff, the course is good, up there with Majors and Viera East.

I loved the course, but had a few folks behind us eager to hit their drive at us. We were waiting for folks in front of us and they were really not playing slow. That's not the courses fault.

All parts of the course are in excellent condition, tee box, fariways as well as pristine greens. One of, if not the, favorite course in the Space Coast Region. Great club house too.

Played this course twice on a weekend while visiting Melbourne. Staff was very friendly and competent; course was in great condition and the layout is fabulous with some very challenging holes as well as some you can recover on. Overall a great experience!

Duran has a great layout perfect for all skill levels. The value and amenities ( clubhouse, practice facilities, par 3 course) have me driving over from Orlando at least once a month.

This course has a nice layout - longer than some - well-trapped with lots of water. One of the young fellows I played with must've lost a dozen balls - ! I thought the greens were lightning fast but fair. It was in nice condition for February. The clubhouse and facilities were v nice - I believe it's all fairly new.

Duran is always a class club in every way. The greens were especially good on this round, but the whoe track was good despite dry conditions. The staff is professional and cordial. Good value for what I paid. Will certainly return and recommend to others. One of the top 2-3 tracks in this part of FL.

From tee to green the course was in pristine condition. Can't wait to play it again.
