The Golf Club of California

This is a challenging layout with lots of elevation changes, elevated greens and shots over creeks. The Golf shop and starter were very friendly.

Started off great! The starter was nice and said it’s empty enjoy. Then came the back nine... I was stuck behind an 8-10 some. No joke. Called the clubhouse on the 18th when I had finally had it. They did play quick but I had no idea when I could hit... and I was being pushed by the group behind me. The clubhouse argued with me that only 4 were playing. That is a lie! Then he said it’s normal on Monday mornings. No apology no offer for a discount to come back... I put two in the water with 10 guys and 9 golf carts around the green yelling for me to come up. I love this course but no course I don’t care that these guys are members should allow this! Posted a bad photo below.

Liked the layout of the course. Nothing too ridiculous and difficult but still fun to play.

Played oaks and stone house. At 45$ for a weekday round this course is a steal. Best greens and fairway conditions I’ve seen in San Diego this time of year. 20$ for carts is excessive however. Scratch golfers/low handicappers may find the course layout lacking challenges and difficulty but doesn’t mean I necessarily think the course is easy. Oaks is old school park style golf , stone house much more challenging and visually impressive.

Great course. Group in front must have been playing for $100 a putt because they took forever on the greens. But the course is very nice, the weather was a bit warm, but it's July. Playing partner dropped his phone somewhere on the course and a worker went out looking for it and found it. So his dad was made. Will be back again.

First time playing here in about 7 years, layout is tricky, the last time I played the course was in much better condition. Fairways need help, too many bare and burnt out spots. Greens 3-18 rolled very nicely, sand bunkers are hard packed, pace of play was extremely slow 5 hours. If you want a challenging layout with less than good conditions, this is the place for you, if they made the conditions better, this would be a great golf course.

First time golfing here and loved it. Fairways and greens are well maintained. The course layout was fun and challenging, can’t be aggressive here. Quite a few dog legs which made it fun, not to mention the par 3 with the bunker in the center of the green. Definitely will be back whenever I’m in town.

The course was in very good condition. Tees, fairways, greens and bunkers were all in great condition. You have to think your way around this course, very much a golfers course.

Played in the afternoon as a twosome. Challenging course with great views and lay-out. Helps to keep the ball in play as if you go in the bushes, you go in the bushes !! Fairways and greens played great and really enjoyed the distance you drive from green to next tee box as i't's the jungle cruise. Friendly staff to top it off. Will play here again fro sure.

This course is a great little track when they keep it up.

Played very nicely last two times and it looks like they are making an effort as it shows. The greens are starting to roll better, fairways are playable,very few bare spots.
