The Golf Club of California
About
Situated just outside of Temecula, the Golf Club of California enjoys a scenic landscape provided by the rolling hills north of San Diego. The terrain is ideal for a round of golf, offering verdant acres of countryside blanketed with mature oaks, sycamores, and towering eucalyptus trees and accented with redtop grasses, which border the carefully manicured fairways and greens. Although there is an abundance of trees, the course still has many wide-open areas. The pristine white sand bunkers and colorful wildflowers are a beautiful contrast to the lush green of the course. The layout is not particularly long, but golfers should be prepared for a challenging round of target golf. The course features narrows fairways, plenty of elevation changes, and tricky greens that require an accurate approach. There are also a few meandering creeks that come into play.

A quiet tournament quality course hidden in Fallbrook.
The course is always in good condition. From the blacks it's a challenging course and could host a qualifier or tournament. The putting green looks like it was attacked by a fungus so the green speed was useless since they let it grow out. The same fungus hit the first green so there is a temporary green while it's being repaired. Stick it in the 20' foot circle because you can't putt on that temp green at all.
It's a nice quiet country club and a pleasure to play. Ice machine and water at the clubhouse. No ball washers so remember to bring a little wet towel. Carts lack GPS and phone chargers but they do put ice in the cart coolers.
Everyone greets you with the private country club waive and it just has a pleasant relaxed atmosphere. The staff is courteous and you don't get that "not a member"" vibe at all.
Very Enjoyable
Really enjoyed my first time playing here- fun layout, every hole different. Greens in good shape except for first hole. Fairways fast and firm, as is typical post drought. Some stunning view holes. Will definitely return.
The Golf Club of California
Except for green number 1, the other 17 are in great shape! Fun course to play! Great views on the front 9 of the surrounding area.
Great layout-course conditions so so.
Good value for price point.
Awesome Place
Decided to give this place a try and I'm glad I did. What a gem. This place has everything...great layout, great greens and a wonderful club house.
I will be back for sure. Oh......almost forgot, and a friendly and helpful staff.
Fun... but difficult.
Great course. Too many singles and doubles following our foursome. We let many play through but got tired of it... even though our pace of play was better than average. Greens were difficult. Lots of blind shots. Still fun and very challenging. Not a great course for weekend players. Will watch prices and would like to come back again.
great senery of valley
I always enjoy playing this course but it is challenging
because of rolling terrain and narrow fairways. It always is well maintained and friendly employees.
Country club feel, affordable price
We played on a weekday and the course was not crowded. We only waited on two holes to tee off. The grounds are well-kept, clean and feature some awesome views and beautiful water areas. The carts were very nice too. There's a par 3 with a huge waterfall that pours into a big lake with gorgeous lily pads.
I will play this course again, and probably buy a membership because I love it so much.
Mr Glenn
The course is outstanding. Need to play it at least twice since some holes are dogleg or blind shots. No drinking water on course. Only saw the cart girl once. It was close to 100 degrees Saturday. Can you say thirsty.
Worth my time
Course was in fine shape with fairway and green aeration mostly heeled. No course layout on card and not enough markers indicating next tee. Lots of cart driving from hole to hole and lots of walking cart parking to greens. Glad I had someone who had played it and had yardage book. No GPS on carts. Greens readable and sand traps consistent lead to 28 putts with 2 out of three sandies. Will go back in furture
Outstanding Facility - Play it!!
Got a twilight tee time, 2.20 pm; just over 4 hr round, which compares well with local courses in North County. Never played the course before, pleasantly surprised - will definitely play again. First round always good to learn the course, and certainly need to know where to aim on some of the tight fairways. But don't be put off, they're not the tightest, and properties are not too close to be in danger of stray shots. Scenery and vistas are excellent, all around the course. Great amenities too, and big shout out to the Bar Tender for opening up for a quick drink after the round for our 4. Can't wait to play there again.
GC of CA
Played the Blues (6502/72.0/132) with GK Guru's Gary & Bob. We teed off just after 7 am amid dew in brisk conditions and ended around 11:30 in bright sunshine. Absolutely beautiful day to play golf with great playing partners. Really like the course layout that features rolling hills with few flat holes. Even though many holes are surrounded by homes up on the surrounding hills, none are close and do not really come into play or offer a distraction. The tees were well maintained and generally lush. Level with most divots already properly maintained. The fairways had been recently aerated and were more thin than lush but still had good coverage throughout. Quite playable. The rough was about 50/50 lush/thin and had good coverage. Both the fairways and rough look like they are on the upswing. The sand traps were well maintained bordering on excellent. Generous amount of good quality medium texture, dark brown sand. The Poa annua greens are probably 85-90% recovered from their recent maintenance. They putted medium speed and were bumpy at times, but still decent overall. Firm but held well struck irons well. This course would be a beast to walk as numerous tees are a long ways from the last green. No GPS on the carts, but the sprinklers were well marked. There are holes where you can grip it n rip it here, but there are others where conservative is the prudent play. Almost every hole is surrounded by lost ball bushes or ESA areas, so straying even a little can add penalties in bunches. The customer service was excellent from everyone encountered. No drink cart out on the course, but they have a beautiful clubhouse and places on the course you can call and order food/drink for the turn or after the round. Really nice touch was that they printed me a certificate to commemorate the hole in one I had on #16 last time I played here. Enjoyed the experience, definitely recommended.
Perfect day to play
1st time play....interesting and challenging course...really need to learn course layout before playing seriously....view and vista's are great.....pace of play also great....will return
