The Golf Club of California

This course is one of the best courses in SD to play and one of my favorites.
The layout is fun and challenging yet forgiving enough for everyone to enjoy. Greens are fast true With some good undulations in them.
The par 3's from the blues or black tees are probably the toughest group of 3's in San Diego. Fun but tough.
Come play here and you'll have a great time but some of the actual members here do not like the outside play and can be a bit gruff.

Were really good, always like this course, best for the money for sure, one of the better deals in the county!

Not only did this course have no hole maps or yardages or a map on the scorecard, it also had no ball washers. So playing this course for the first time it was very difficult to know where the hazards were or the lay of the land.

I LOVED THE COURSE, PIN PLACEMENT WAS DIFFICAULT TO GET UP AND DOWN.I WOULDN'T HAVE PAID THE PRICE T PLAY IF I HADN'T GOTTEN A DEAL.THEY ADDVERTIZED THAT THEY WAITED TO BE AN UPSCALE GOLF COURSE, WELL THEY NEED TO START IN THE PRO SHOP WITH THE WAY THEY TREAT THEIR CLIENTTELL. I'M NOT FROM HERE, BUT WHERE I'AM FROM WE DO KNOW HOW TO TAKE CARE OF OUR GOLFERS. I WOULD LIKE TO GO BACK AND PLAY THE COURSE AGAIN, BUT NOT FOR THOSE PRICES AND THE WAY YOU'RE TREATED.

great course in excellent condition, not for Walkers due to some Long distances between holes, but a must to Play in SD County

I have played there several times. This time the play was SLOW. Waited at every tee box. At hole number 10, gave up, played the front 9 over. Ridiculous. Apparently, they don't have any marshalls on the course.

Picked up this round from GolfNow at the last minute and was glad I made the drive. Course has a great layout, the greens roll true, and pace of play was great. Many of the holes have great character. Target golf is at a premium on this course, especially with approach shots as many greens have multiple tiers.

The only downside was the walk ability of the course. Many LONG walks in between holes deters walkers. Also, if you are a single they will make you share a cart with a stranger in your group.

All in all I loved the course. Will be back, especially with the deals offered on Golf Now.

The greens roll fantastic but that's all I can say for the course. Not from area but felt priced a little high for other courses played in area. Also got the feeling this is a local Country club that needs additional revenue and is letting outside play but really does not want outside play.

No yardage markers, no map of the course. Would play other courses before going back. Greens are good, but not comparable to the practice green. Overall not impressed.

This was my third time playing this course. It's a challenge I really enjoy. In my view this is probably the best course in North County that isn't exorbitantly priced (La Costa and Aviara being examples of ones that are!). It is a very interesting design that tests every facet of your game, in particular your positional play. Probably not a great course for a novice in that it is quite challenging and not particularly open. The greens are also quite undulating.

The only downside for me was the condition of the fairways which I found to be very poor. Very bare for the most part and with awkward tufts of grass in places. A friend of mine had played there during the summer and mentioned the fairways were totally burned out - complete hardpan.

All-in-all though a very good track and one I look forward to playing again.

Lots of intriguing holes with doglegs that make a 1st time play a bit difficult because of things unseen. Yardage markings are poor, so a gps is a must!!
The fairways were a bit sparse and a little soggy after a rain the prior day. Lots of bunkers in the doglegs with well protected, large greens. One par 3 has a bunker in the middle of the green!!

Enjoyed the course and the company I was paired with.
Obviously course knowledge makes a difference since ball placement both on the fairways and greens can make a big difference in the score.
Would come back and play it again in the future.

Love this course. My only complaint is they charge for range balls if you use GolfNow rates. Otherwise, range balls are included. Just a heads up.

This is an amazing, beautiful course. The par 3s I found particularly challenging. This is one of my favorite places to play.

This is my home course since I live in the neighborhood and I'm lucky to have such a nice course so close to home. It's in my top 3 favorite courses in the area: Oak Quarry, Journey then this course.
Each hole is challenging in its own way but not so difficult that you can't score good. I do tend to lose more golf balls at this course than any other and I'm a 5 handicap so bring plenty!

Very challenging every time. This is one of my favorite courses to play.

We tried to beat Mother Nature by playing inland instead of the Coast but got caught at the end of the round by rain. Drizzles all along though. Good clubhouse, good course, good staff. There is always sun somewhere.

Private country club just recently opened to the public through GN. Overall really good course in really good condition! Greens were great, really fast. Fairways good condition considering drought. Fun layout, challenging. Teed off at 7am. 50 degrees out! First tee shot over long carry straight into the sun. Not a good result! Played poorly but not the course's fault. Finished by 10:15. Will definitely come back. Only complaint: need more water stations. I was parched for a while!
