The Golf Club of California
About
Situated just outside of Temecula, the Golf Club of California enjoys a scenic landscape provided by the rolling hills north of San Diego. The terrain is ideal for a round of golf, offering verdant acres of countryside blanketed with mature oaks, sycamores, and towering eucalyptus trees and accented with redtop grasses, which border the carefully manicured fairways and greens. Although there is an abundance of trees, the course still has many wide-open areas. The pristine white sand bunkers and colorful wildflowers are a beautiful contrast to the lush green of the course. The layout is not particularly long, but golfers should be prepared for a challenging round of target golf. The course features narrows fairways, plenty of elevation changes, and tricky greens that require an accurate approach. There are also a few meandering creeks that come into play.

Fair challenge
A hidden gem, it's worth the drive.
Greens in good shape, difficult to read.
Interesting course with a variety of challenges.
I've played this course four times now and really enjoy that it has enough variety to keep you coming back for more.
Best value in San Diego!
Great layout and scenery; exceptional clubhouse and pro shop; very challenging landing areas, approaches, and par 3's (incl the 18th); fast greens for a semi-private course. On the downside, fairways are a little thin in spots, and a few greens had replacement patches that haven't healed. Also, despite having a confirmed tee time booked through Golf Now, I was bumped one later time to accommodate a two-some - no reason was given to me by starter.
Great Course
Great course. Well taken care of in the pro shop. Liked all the staff. Only bummer is it ends on s par 3. Hidden gem for sure. Wish it had a more original name.
Under Valued! Great Price and Nice Staff
IF you are in the North San Diego area or Inland empire near Temecula or Corona, you need to make the trek to play this course.
I got it for $59 on Golfnow.com on a Sunday morning. Greens are fast and puttable! They keep their lines,
All the par 3s make you think. I loved it!
A pleasure to play
Friendly staff, good pace, great conditions, nice track, reasonable price.

VERY fun and interesting layout. HHHHHot drink cart girl ;-) Hidden tiers on greens, must look closely. Pace was a little slow- just under 5 hours.
Great Day
Golf Club of California is a first class private club with a few tee times open to the public. Enjoy this club while you can because when they sell enough memberships, you won't get past the gates again. Considering the drought, the course was in great shape but the greens had been recently punched and had a few bare spots. If you can get on this course for under $50 bucks, it is well worth the drive.
Love the course. Hate being misinformed!
I've played this course many times and have always enjoyed everything about this track. Unfortunately I came out this day and was informed at check in that the greens were freshly punched and sanded. If they would've had the aerification notice. I would have chosen differently.
Excellent Course For The Money
Started on back 9 as maintenance was scheduled. Overall condition of greens were good. A few were a little spotty. Fairways very good for this time of year. Tee boxes were great. Beautifully designed course is an excellent value. Would definitely play again!
Best Hot Deal Course in SD and Inland Empire
1st time played this course, beautiful, fairways wide enough but will be punished if hit off line, greens fast, cup is cut nice with white paint, rough not high, this is a semi private course, club house and pro - shop in stylish Spanish Mediterranean Architect, great ambiance. Driving range is $5 and all the balls you can hit but may have to call to have more delivered, Payed $34 2PM hot deal on Friday. Will play again !
Wonderful experience!
Course was in great shape. Layout was challenging but fair. It was a wonderful experience. Great course, especially for the price.
Great Course Excellent Condition, Golf Carts Trouble
My son and I played this course for the first time last week and we loved it. The only down side was the golf cart that we were given died after 5 holes. Another cart was brought out and it worked fine. We played yesterday and were told to take any of the maroon golf carts. I asked if they are fully charged because of what had happened last time and was told yes. Well, once again the cart died on the same hole it did last time. We limped the cart back to the club house and took another maroon cart that also ran out of juice after another 4 holes. Limped again back to the clubhouse, told the guy in the pro shop and he told us to take a silver cart that was much nicer and worked great. This botched our round 4:00 tee time and mojo and it got dark before we could finish. A big disappointment considering we paid appx $40 a piece . Afternoon golfers beware!
Beautiful. Do not Miss
Best of its type. Spectacular routing ,design, condition. Many memorable holes including a par 3 with green hidden by reeds in hazard. FUN. Friendly staff.
Super nice for the price!
I had a great experience and definitely will play this course again. Except for the beat-up green on No. 1 hole which I happen to birdie (lucky), the course is in very good condition. The driving range is real grass and practice range balls included.
Shotmaker Course, can't stray too f linear off
I definitely like the course, it makes you think. It helps to have a little knowledge of the course, or play with someone who does.
Great Layout!
This is an excellent value, pace of play is second to none! The staff is so very friendly and accommodating!
Just a pleasure to play!

Excellent GC but it is difficult
I have played this course a couple of times now and it is one of the most challenging courses in So. California. It is a true semi-private CC so it is very well maintained. As for the golf, be prepared for hard fast greens, sloping fairways, lot's of blind shots, and tight driving holes. It is a course you will need your A-game and lots of patients.

Good day on the course
Good golfing conditions, Somewhat dry but, you have to consider the water restrictions in So Cal at this time. The views were outstanding..
