The Golf Club of California
About
Situated just outside of Temecula, the Golf Club of California enjoys a scenic landscape provided by the rolling hills north of San Diego. The terrain is ideal for a round of golf, offering verdant acres of countryside blanketed with mature oaks, sycamores, and towering eucalyptus trees and accented with redtop grasses, which border the carefully manicured fairways and greens. Although there is an abundance of trees, the course still has many wide-open areas. The pristine white sand bunkers and colorful wildflowers are a beautiful contrast to the lush green of the course. The layout is not particularly long, but golfers should be prepared for a challenging round of target golf. The course features narrows fairways, plenty of elevation changes, and tricky greens that require an accurate approach. There are also a few meandering creeks that come into play.

great course, but...
Had a 1:20 PM Tee Time, which turned into 2:05 PM by the time The Club got their 'tournament' players off the tee. Unacceptable mismanagement on a no weather delay day. To be this far off the mark... you're doing a dis-service to those who expect and pay for better. However, the pro shop & bar staff at this beautiful club are super friendly & the course is great to play... if you ever get on it. Overall... BOGEY
Beautiful
Gorgeous course! Very well maintained and groomed. I will be playing this course a lot
This course is well laid out with every hole being different
We love this course. It is challenging, but not killer. The views are awesome. It's worth the 40 min. drive from Encinitas for me. Staff is friendly. But, don't expect food and drinks to be available. They shut down the food shack at 2:00 and there is no drink cart person. Also, getting a drink at the "bar" afterwards can be challenging because finding someone to help you is difficult. But, other than those things the golf is great.
One of my favorite courses in North County
Course was in very good shape. The first green was a little beat up but he others were very good. Not quite as fast as the have been in the past. We played on Saturday at 3 for less than $45 and finished in under 4 hours. I wish I knew how to play number 12 without going into the water or the weeds.
Nice scenery on this course
The course was in very good condition except for the 1st green which they were working on.
Beautiful course. Pace of play was great.
Enjoyable experience. Course was in great shape. Friendly staff. Would recommend to a friend.
Favorite course in SD
Third time I have played this course and it gets better everytime. This is a must play.
Very challenging
Great design that puts an emphasis on accuracy off the tee.
Nice course but slow play
Close to 5 hours to play was a bit too long. Too bad marshall's won't have slow groups skip a hole
Slow and not in great shape
Course was jammed pack with no marshal. Greens were spotty and deadly slow. Bunkers were mud, rocky or dirt. Of course no one tells you this before teeing off
Try it
Interesting layout. A good mix of open and narrow holes. A bit of hazard, but not too much.
challenging greens
Beautiful course, with challenging greens. Long distance between some holes if your walking.
EXCELLENT!!!
Played on fathers day at 630 AM A great time will go back a lot! There is nothing negative to say about the course, the staff, even loved the parking lot WORTH EVERY PENNY!!!!
The course is well maintained, the greens and fairways were outstanding!! Top golf course in the San Diego Region!!
Highly recommend to play! The golf course is well maintained! The pace of play was excellent! Completed 18 holes in 3 1/2 hours. I consider this course as one of the best golf course in San Diego!!
Great clubhouse and course
I'm a high handicapper and found this course to be very well maintained with some challenging holes.
Couple of holes, where the pen was hidden until you got to the end of the fairway, and a few pen placements that literally added insult to injury.
However, the course is so beautiful, I will be playing it again and again.
Very scenic and the club house is beautiful
The course is in good condition and great scenery, the club house has a spectacular view of the 18th green and was a wonderful place to have a beverage after the round.
Look for better deals than what we paid
We paid $74 per person through Golf Now on a Sunday, even though hardly anyone was out and they had just punched the fairway rough, meaning there were mud plugs everywhere. Course is challenging and demands a good tee ball. It is probably in better shape in later June and through the summer, but of course that is when it will be really hot in Fallbrook. Some greens were slow and bumpy, others were speedy making for some annoying inconsistency. Don't walk this course - there are some pretty long cart rides between some holes. Pace of play is good. Nice driving range and good on-tap beer selection at the 19th hole in the beautiful clubhouse. I'd play again in the $50-range but not for $74.
Challenging Course
Not nearly as much hard pan in the fairways, greens are two weeks away from being in great shape....... Bring a good tee ball, it's a must here
Consistently good
This made my third trip to the golf club of California. They have done it right. I mean, they have a sunscreen dipenser in the locker rooms. If you have an extra $34, and can find the same deal, check it out.
Great layout and the course is in good shape.
Challenging Course for an average golfer. Narrow roughs with lots of lateral hazards makes the course very unforgiving for errant drives and approach irons. Greens can be moderately fast and difficult to read at times.
