Situated just outside of Temecula, the Golf Club of California enjoys a scenic landscape provided by the rolling hills north of San Diego. The terrain is ideal for a round of golf, offering verdant acres of countryside blanketed with mature oaks, sycamores, and towering eucalyptus trees and accented with redtop grasses, which border the carefully manicured fairways and greens. Although there is an abundance of trees, the course still has many wide-open areas. The pristine white sand bunkers and colorful wildflowers are a beautiful contrast to the lush green of the course. The layout is not particularly long, but golfers should be prepared for a challenging round of target golf. The course features narrows fairways, plenty of elevation changes, and tricky greens that require an accurate approach. There are also a few meandering creeks that come into play.

Loved the course - challenging yet unique for every hole and the view of the surrounding landscape was appealing from every hole.

Loved the course - challenging yet unique for every hole, and the view of the surrounding landscape was appealing from every hole. Compliments to the grounds keeper - from tee to green course was immaculate. Special thanks to John - my "guide" around the course which made for a very enjoyable afternoon.

Well maintained great layout

We could not have felt more welcome. Staff were very friendly, the clubhouse is beautiful. The course is very well maintained and it is a challenging but not to long layout. First time playing this course I would definitely play it again.

Well Maintained, challenging course

Fun course, a few tough holes out there but great layout. Not that close if you are coming from San Diego but worth the drive for the price and conditions.

Great Course but Extremely Slow with bikers at wedding making loud noise

I've played here couple of times this year and I always love the course and the way it is maintained. However this time the pace was more than slow and it took us over 5 hours to finish. On top of that while we were on back 9, we heard extremely loud engine noise as if jets were passing by or a big explosion nearby not once but several times. it turned out that bikers were attending the wedding and multiple bikes were making the sound.
Overall it a great course I recommend to my friends but it looks that we were not fortunate in terms of timing this time.

Our private club

My wife and I play on Mondays. We play it forward because we are both in our 60's and enjoy a more relaxed rhythm. Being at the GCC on Mondays is like owning our own private course. We are never pushed and seldom held up although we play at a quick pace (3.5 hrs). The course is in excellent shape allowing for the plugging and upkeep that must always go on. Bunkers are playable, fairways well groomed, greens 8 of 10 and receptive, tee boxes offer a wide range of difficulties. Some work over the years on the rough has made the course easier which we appreciate. I'm sure the members do also. It is a player friendly beautiful park like setting at a fair price. Make it as tough as you like or as easy as you need.

A great experience!

The most enjoyable - and the fastest - round we've had in quite some time. A beautiful setting and a course which is not punishing, but makes you pay for mistakes. A hidden gem.

Great Design - Just a Little Dry

What a secret in Fallbrook. The course is pretty tough with many left-to-right holes. It is just under 6800 yards from the combo blue/black tees.

Greens are in good shape and pretty fast. Pace of play for a Saturday was under 4 hours. Only complaint - poor cart girl service but that was OK considering the courses challenge.

Take note if you play these combo tees; the par 3's are very tough and long. #18 is over a body of water with no bail-out area and plays 233.

I think a must play and a much better experience and value in north San Diego versus Pala Mesa.

This course is fun and challenging

The course was in great shape! The greens were good, maybe a bit on the slow side but not bad at all. The staff was very friendly and the accommodations are first rate.

Course is in good shape. Clubhouse is very nice-

#7 is fun...no chipping on that green!!! Course is challenging enough and bunkers are in good shape...I should know I hit into them enough- Lots of lateral hazards so not too many OB shots. Semi private club and no GPS available. I'm not complaining, only letting you know! It doesn't matter at my level anyway, haha-

Great course

The only negative thing I have to say about the course is that they do not provide water anywhere out on the course. And it can get pretty hot in Falbrook during the summer time. So make sure you bring your own. But overall great course. I will definitely play it again. Just a heads up, if playing for the first time, the front nine is definitely a bit more difficult to navigate then the back. Enjoy.

North County Gem

Challenging course in great shape. On most par 4's &5's green is not visible from tee. Large undulating greens. Plenty of trouble if you can't keep it straight.
