Empire Ranch Golf Club

I play here regularly and book through Golf Now most of the time. Today my tee time at the course was different than what time I booked through GN. Only a 10 minute difference but it's a matter of principle. Course blamed GN not sure who GN will blame? Let's get it right!

Tough coarse one in going to play again!!! Everything was great out there except pace of play!!!

I always enjoy Empire..! The course was in great shape and just as tricky as I remembered..!! I'll be back... SOON..!!!

The greens were perfect. Rolled great & were fast. No spike or balls marks.

Even with all of the rain, the greens are great. Fairways & tee boxes were all mowed perfectly.

It was a challenging course. We had golfed the first 9 holes the week earlier it was wet but enjoyed the course. With all the rain northern Ca received in the last months the course was slow because of cart path only. We plan to play the course again.

For the money one of the best courses you can play in the the Sacramento area. Our most recent round was a little soggy but still vey enjoyable. The conditions were what I would expect this time of year with the amount of rain we have gotten recently. All in all it was a fantastic day of golf. I can't wait for the course to dry out a bit and hit it again.

Great day despite cart path only due to rain. 1st time the driving range was closed for maintenance till 11am. So no chance to warm up. Other than that it's always a pleasure to play Empire Ranch. Best draining course in Sacramento to play in wet weather.

This was my first time here and I did not know the course layout. It was easy to figure after a few holes.

The course was in great condition, the greens are well kept. I like the large open fairways and with very few trees to deal with. There is not a lot of water hazards, but there are some.

The only thing that I didn't care for was the hardness of the bunker sand. I was in a few bunkers and the sand thickness is too thin, you hit dirt under the sand.

I had a fun enjoyable round of golf here and I recommend this course.

It has a lot of ups and downs, a lot of doglegs, and a lot of bunkers.

The scenery is beautiful too.

One thing I would like to recommend to the club, please get rubber tees on the mats at the driving range. I cannot practice my driving on those rubber mats without a tee. Or let us hit off of the grass.

A hidden gem out in Folsom.

Greens were good, consistent, traps were in bad shape, but we had a couple inches of rain couple days before. Course was dry considering the rain amount.

Greens a bit choppy from aeriation completed a couple weeks ago but not bad. Fairways not bad but a few water logged areas to avoid.

The back nine is a wonderful setting. Lots of semi blind shots to keep things interesting, and a few par 4 that are worth the drive. First Par 5 on back is fantastic, as is one on the front that both play long at appx 580 yards and hard to reach in two. the other two are reachable. Lay up to pitching distance feels like a putt on all of them. Nice design on back, front is good too just a little more in front of you. This course is attackable in all aspects. Fun to play and not overly demanding off the tee, but enough bang for buck to get 4 stars. Greens were aerated two weeks prior so were slower and bumpier but we expected that and base no value rating on that whatsoever as the greens look like they will be fine soon and can get faster. They will offer the courses defense when they do speed up. Course is due for a re-rating as the numbers on the handicaps holes are deceiving. I would change a few of them, and as an advanced scratch golfer, take my word for it. Some really nice golf holes out here without being overly challenging but just as fun. The views of surrounding homes in and around Folsom are fantastic. Drive out there is moderate, just another hour or less and you are in Tahoe...

This will explain how slow it was. I called a friend who also was playing empire ranch and we were waiting to tee off on 6 and he was on 10. We met up at the 18th green as we were still waiting to tee off on 10. We were told there was a group of older gentlemen 5 groups ahead and one was sight impaired. At one point on hole 7 there were 4 groups there. Shame on empire ranch for allowing this to happen.

I do wish the marshals would work harder at encouraging pace of play here. They were busy, because of the great deal $29 including "lunch', but waiting on every shot on a Wednesday afternoon is frustrating..... The course is in quite good condition, it's nice to see they are conserving water in our drought, though ugly brown spots, they are not in any way where you should be hitting your ball. :)

Very Helpful staff, food was great took advantage of the weekday lunch deal. Golf course is very user friendly and in great condition. Other reviews regarding staff were not evident.

The course is in good condition. I thought the holes were fair and a good golfer can score well.

First time playing Empire Ranch and throughly enjoyed the course. Nice challenging layout that's not too difficult and had enough risk/rewards to keep it interesting. I will be back.
