La Cantera Resort - The Palmer Course

Great course with great views. Facilities are top notch. Only complaint is a shiner costs $6. Otherwise a great experience.

We both enjoyed this course. The views of the surrounding area were wonderful and the course was in great shape. We did get a little rain but it worked out alright and we got 18 holes in. It's worth the money but I would recommend playing in the afternoon when it''s not so hot.

This course is magnificent . The layout is beautifull and every hole brings a different chalenge. There are many blind shots making it a difficult and challenging layout with the prettiest views in all of San Antonio. Greens are in excellent condition as is the rest of the course.
Any golfer that gets the chance to play this course must do so. This is the best course in south Texas by far.

The course is well taken care of and the staff is very friendly.

This is the best course I have played in the San Antonio area. Each hole is unique and challenging. The course conditions are great and you have to hit it fairly straight or you are in all kinds of trouble. Love the course.

La Cantera Courses are the best public courses in San Antonio, this is the toughest of the two, lot's of elevation changes and blind shots, greens are fast, especially 2 & 16, try to keep it in play aiming left on most holes, errant shots will be lost. Only complain I have is food and drinks are priced like a resort, too expensive!!

This course is a hidden gem and is in very good condition. I wish the greens were slightly faster, but very nice.

The course was great and everything smooth. Only complaint that the grass 2 feet from the fairway was deep. So if you didn't hit the FW or had gps on your ball, it was pretty much lost. So that kinda made it frustrating. But other than that. Completely awesome time! Wish it was so expensive, I'd be there more often!

The Palmer Course was excellent. Fairways, greens and conditions were pristine. The views from the tee box to the elevated tees on Par 3s make the course a must play.

Course was perfect even with light winds the greens were very receptive. Always love coming back here.

This was the third time that I have played the Palmer Course in as many weeks. The course is in excellent condition and is well maintained. This course is definitely not for beginners and calls on one to strike the ball well or face the consequences.

It was a real pleasure to play this course. For a few extra bucks you will be surprised to see how well you can play when fairways are nice and tight and greens allow you to go at every flag knowing your ball will stick and hold. Can't wait to make it out again. Great views of the city too.

Bring plenty of balls but you will definitely enjoy your day on this course. Lots of elevation changes, blind shots, uniquely set up holes, and tough greens to play. Glad we chose to play this course while in the area. Even more glad their carts have GPS which display golf carts in group in front of you. There are five blind tee shots so the GPS comes in real handy.

If you are looking for a beautiful day on a beautiful course, this is the one to spend it on. The views are scenic, the holes ask for attention but never ask too much, and the staff is courteous and friendly. The course was in great shape and played short. Unfortunately the greens hadn't been mowed, rolled inconsistently and were crunchy by the end of the round. I suspect a quick mow and roll would make them more fun and challenging. The only negative for me was the price. If not for my GolfNow deal, I would have payed over $100 for the round. All in all, fun course, perfect weather and a great day.

This is a great course. From the lay out, to the change of elevation, to the course condition was great. Being from Houston the change of elevation was tougher since I'm use to playing relatively flat course. But great course and the views alone are worth the pay.

Challenging course, stay straight or go down the rocks. Tough greens, hard to read. Every putt went right! Great condition from tee to greens. Golf shop staff were friendliest around. Would play again. If you GPS directions specify Palmer course or it sends you to the resort course a few miles away.

Every hole is breathtaking!!! The staff is a cut above and treat you like a king. Well worth the money, and I enjoyed the challenge.

The Palmer and Resort courses are my favorite two courses in San Antonio. The course conditions are always great and the staff is always exceptional. The Palmer Course can be fairly challenging and the Resort course is always fun. Number 18 on the Palmer a 456 yard par 4, first a blind tee shot over the hill (HINT - Aim for the cupola), and then down hill all the way to the green that is surrounded by sand and water.
