Golfer Reviews
Great Track
Super layout, first class clubhouse and pro shop - condition was stellar - will return
Great course
Great course. Followed a round at Tobacco Road. Highly recommend.
Better Every Time
While the layout is a spectacular example of Arnie's best work, the conditions, the service, the staff, and the amenities get better and better. A must play.
Awesome course
I played Tobacco Road, Talamore, Pine Needles and finally Mid South during the holiday at the end of 2024. TR is of course on a level that is off the charts, but Mid South was the course that really exceeded my expectations. It was spectacular. The whole course was not only beautiful but the variability of the holes just made it a lot of fun. It was tough but very fair. Some of the greens are very challenging and hitting the wrong side of the green can make life very dificult but that is what makes it so much fun. The staff were also very friendly and welcoming. I actually think this could be the best course I have played in the Raleigh/Pinehurst corridor. The variability of the holes and the very challenging greens would keep me coming back to this course every week if I could. I loved it.
Great condition for winter golf
First time playing this course. The condition was great for winter golf. It rained the day before so cart path only and got no roll of the tees. enough elevation changes to keep you guessing of your club choices. Greens were in good shape. 18th is a very nice finishing hole... Will definitely play again if coming back to the area.
great course. slow play
great course. staff friendly. course was a bit wet due to recent rain but still very playable. only problem was very slow play. groups we’re playing like it was final round of the masters. when you have two people playing and come up on a foursome and there playing from 3 different tees you would think they would allow you to play thru. not here! i believe people need to be reminded of allowing faster players to play thru. had to leave due to darkness. it took 5.5 hours to play 14 holes.
Great layout, course was in really good condition for the time of year. Pace was a little slow but absolutely worth it!
Awesome round at Mid South
The course was in beautiful shape. Only negative was pro shop refused my son a junior price because we went through Golf now app. Still got a great price but the gentleman seemed bent that I used to golf now app. Other than that golf course was beautiful and the rest of the staff great!
Top-notch golf!
Mid South is an unbelievable golf course available for public play through GN. It plays fast and inviting to rip driver off the tee on almost all the Par4’s and Par5’s.
Bear in mind bunker laden green complexes await the incoming approach shot . Not to mention the fast and undulating greens that characterize putts once you’ve reached the surface. There’s enough water to trouble you coming down the stretch on the closing holes. Mid South is a must play with a variety of tee box options as well!
Truly enjoyed the experience . Happy holidays
It belongs in Pinehurst.
Set alongside the Pinehurst CC's 10 courses, as well as Mid Pines, Pine Needles, and Southern Pines, Mid Pines fits right in nicely. A pleasure to play, quite the challenge, but not too punitive. Arnie, obviously, wanted one to enjoy the day, enjoy the vivid landscape comprising the golf holes, and leave very satisfied.
