Callippe Preserve Golf Course

They let everyone tee off 3 min after each group. Expect 6 hours

This is my favorite course in all of tri valley. Greens were phenomenal but the fairways were brown and shotty. Lots of dirt patches. Had terrible ball placement on dirt with no grass.

I play Callippe at least once a month, usually a tad more. The kids in the clubhouse have become increasingly obnoxious over the years. I booked using Golfnow and couldn’t make my tee time as my wife is ill. I called to cancel 14 hours in advance and was told no dice. I’d be charged for the time and I’m sure with a early tee time they filled it as well. Not sure if I’ll ever play there again.

The staff was accommodating with me getting on the course a little ahead of my scheduled TEE time. I did get stuck behind two SLOW foursomes which turned my round into a 5:10 hour round. I guess that is the most frustrating aspect of that part of golf. I was a single, so the two some behind me joined. Even so, we waited so long on each tee box. Overall, I would play the course again, but I would make sure my schedule is open just in case history repeats. The weather was kind of hot, which makes patience more of a challenge.

Slowest playing course in Bay Area

This is during week. Don’t even think of playing in 5 hrs on weekends. It already plays 5 hrs during week. 4 hrs is acceptable. 4.5 is not

Great people. Foods good. Course is one of best in area. If you are a sloooowwww player. By all means play. They are looking for you. If you are a 30 handicap. You won’t even notice. Too bad mgmt doesn’t listen

Oh. Also if you are not a pleasanton resident. They don’t want you. Ulless your loaded with money and lots of time. Guys /Gals are great in shop. And restaurant

Had a Monday afternoon tee time and the pace of play was great (practically no waiting at all on any of the holes). The fairways and greens were well-maintained as usual. Afterwards (close to 6 pm) went to their restaurant for a bite; the food menu was limited to hotdogs but at least the drink menu wasn’t. :-)

It took 3 hours to play the back nine. We started on this nine because the front had some issues. There was no marshal and thus the pace of play was really slow. Also, it was a very hot day, and there was no water on the course other than at the clubhouse. I only played nine because I had an appointment later and the pace of play made it so I needed to quit early. I also got no compensation for playing only nine hole when I paid for 18. Finally, I was a bit hesitant in sharing a cart with a stranger with all the Covid concerns. They were not accommodating on this either. Overall, it was not a memorable experience.

Enjoyed playing this course was challenging goodly out great conditions pace of play was a bit slow but we are bogged down by one group ahead of us highly recommend this course will play again

I always enjoy playing at Callippe Preserve Golf course and live the surrounding and complexity(course slope #) of the course

Unfortunately this is the second time I have experienced a 6 hour round midweek midday. They send off tournaments but do not leave enough time. We teed off 15-20 minutes late and had to sit and wait at every hole if not to watch the group in front of us tee off but sometimes the group in front of them. It’s just not enjoyable at that point. I understand golf became more popular during Covid and I’m glad it did but anything about 5 hours is poor course management. The Marshall admitted there is no group holding everything up, it was just overbooked.

Beautiful course with some cool scenic views, very well maintained greens/faiways, challenging back 9, and incredible twilight rates. My only complaint is the pace of play is very slow and it tends to be overbooked.

We love this course about have come to realize that when we play here we need to bet on it taking at least 5 hours. Tee times are every 8 min and there is no way groups can finish holes that fast. Beautiful location, beautiful course jus so slow
