Located less than an hour east of San Francisco, the Course at Wente Vineyards sprawls across the lush, rolling hills of Livermore Valley. Greg Norman carefully crafted the golf course, creating one of northern California's most challenging layouts. The course incorporates three different landscapes: woodlands, grassy meadows, and mature vineyards. All throughout the golf course though, golfers will be faced with dramatic elevation changes that cause tricky uneven lies but that also means there are panoramic views to be enjoyed on almost every hole. The fairways and landing areas are narrow and require good club management. The prevailing winds add another challenging element to the course. The Course at Wente Vineyards' back nine holes are more demanding with the par 3s being especially memorable. It is a tough but fair round that will reward proper club selection and strategy.

Poorest Pace of Play

Unbelievably poor pace of play. Pay $200 to play a golf course and can’t even keep people on pace. Held up by twosomes playing by themselves and K Pop foursomes hitting multiple balls. It is so frustrating driving hours to come play a top rated course and can’t even play the entirety of the course. Its not even busy yet still so poor. I will never come back and play this place. I could have paid less and played somewhere with better pace of play.

Fantasy golf

Absolutely spectacular scenery extremely creative layout wild but fair a bit tough for hackers greens were aerated unfortunately for my timing but it is a memorable experience for anyone that can play I played with one beginner that lost at least thirty balls as he put another down when he missed a shot sometimes 3 balls per tee but my point is it is not a course for beginners unless they bring binoculars to birdwatch lol!

Aerated greens, no such notice on GolfNow at the time of booking

My friend and I initially booked Presidio but cancelled due to aerated green this week. Checked couple courses together and ended up choosing Wente since there were no notice of aeration. The greens were all punched and sanded when we arrived. Not sure if this is an error on GolfNow’s end or Wente. But either way, not the best experience. Otherwise, Wente is a beautiful golf course worth visiting. Just check the official website before booking.

Love this course. The driving range is nice. Only issue is getting food or drinks after you start your round. Didn’t have a cart girl til 13-14 hole….bummer. Thirsty and hungry
