Talega Golf Club
About
Talega Golf Club is one of southern California's treasures, offering a challenging Fred Couples layout that sits above the "Spanish Village by the Sea." The course winds through canyons and valleys offering scenic views of the surrounding countryside throughout. The diverse layout will test your shot-making skills and there are also several interesting risk-reward opportunities including two reachable par 4s that will please long hitters. There is an abundance of bunkers coming into play, especially along the fairways, and golfers will be faced with the occasional blind shot. The greens are extremely quick and not a single one is flat. Nearly every green has multiple tiers. Water hazards also come into play on a few holes. One of Talega's most memorable holes is the monstrous 13th. This par 5 requires a carry over not just one but two ravines.

Talega
I love this course. Well maintained. Great staff on hand. One starter, Carlos, goes beyond and takes great care of his guests. I highly recommend this coursr
Talega
Very amazing golf course. Great staff, especially the starter Carlos. Very helpful and kind.
What happened?
This course used to be a great track. Way over priced for garbage condition. Every tee box shot, some have high grass some have no grass. Hit the middle of fairways, might as well be in the rough. Who's running this place that thinks it's worth $80 on a Tuesday? Do yourself a favor, AVOID this dog track. There's a 600 yard par 5 you can't hit driver. There's a par 4 with a flag on a pole and you can't see it from 2 of the boxes. Disappointed.
Good condition
Nice pace greens tees fairways and rough were decent. If 60$ during the week I would play the course more often.
Talega
This has become my favorite course in the area. They are always my first choice to get a tee time. One starter in particular, Carlos is probably the best employee I have ever met on a golf course.
Talega is legit
Love this course, it’s fun and the staff is great. I have been paired up with cool people every time. I’ll be back
Not the Talega I remember
The course is in far worse shape then when I last played it a few years ago. Greens are good, but fairways and most of the rest of the course seem neglected. The staff was very abrupt and almost rude. They seemed to feel as though they were doing us a favor by even acknowledging our presence. I won’t be back to visit this course anytime soon.
Some Local Knowledge Would Help
Fun course, a little pricey but we played late and saved some money by doing that. Some really good drives were punished due to unfamiliarity with the course. On one hole, we stood on the tee box and could not figure out where the fairway even was! So we drove to the red tees and played from there.
Excellent course condition!
The course is in great shape right now from tee boxes to greens. Pace was a little slow but not too bad.
Very fun
Course was fun lots of different kinds of wholes. A little pricey but definitely worth it. Greens are great fairways are beautiful, all good. Play the tips and the tee boxes will be prime
What Happened To This Course?
I haven't played this course in a while, but it use to be a well kept top course around this area. Bunkers were awful. Don't know if new management came in over the last couple of years or so. If it did, they need to be fired.
Challenging Course could be in better Shape though
The course was a pleasant experience. The staff is top notch and the greens are challenging. I would say the fairways need a little work as they were a little dry and could use some water and work. A lot of bunkers and tough holes to challenge you . Might not be worth $125 but if you get a deal i would do it again.
