About
Talega Golf Club is one of southern California's treasures, offering a challenging Fred Couples layout that sits above the "Spanish Village by the Sea." The course winds through canyons and valleys offering scenic views of the surrounding countryside throughout. The diverse layout will test your shot-making skills and there are also several interesting risk-reward opportunities including two reachable par 4s that will please long hitters. There is an abundance of bunkers coming into play, especially along the fairways, and golfers will be faced with the occasional blind shot. The greens are extremely quick and not a single one is flat. Nearly every green has multiple tiers. Water hazards also come into play on a few holes. One of Talega's most memorable holes is the monstrous 13th. This par 5 requires a carry over not just one but two ravines.

Sunday Golf Round
The course has a polish shine online, but doesn’t go any further than that. When you 1st arrive its very impressive nice facility and over looking the 1st and 9th hole very green and plush, that’s as far as it goes. The remaining fairways are very bare and shows very little upkeep. No beverage or cart service!!! Definitely not worth $100, should be $60 max. To bad could be a beautiful course.
Great layout
Course is in bad shape but still very fun. Would love to play it in good condition
Great shape considering its maintenance season & COVID restrictions
tee’d off around 3PM and only got 15 holes in. Greens excellent, fairways good & bunkers are unraked with a ton of foot prints and packed sand.
Talega
Course in poor condition with many chewed up areas, mucky spots with poor drainage and burned out areas around green perimeters. Greens were slow and bumpy in many areas. Very disappointed in condition, particularly with $90 green fee.
Great views, but only played the back 9 twice
First time playing here. Great views, but when we checked in they said the back nine was only open, front was under repair. When we went to the 10th to tee off they were backed up 4 groups deep, and they still had people coming up behind us as well as the golfers already finishing the first 9 holes. Long story short...a 5 hour golf round. I might come back to play when the full course is open. Next time they should let people know before they tee off that there is a delay in the round or give a refund.
Excellent pace of play! Well run course.
Course conditions could be better.
Telaga is in poor shape
The greens were slow and bumpy. The traps rock hard and the fairways very thin. Portions of the course left unplayable lIra just off the fairway. Very disappointed with the deterioration of this once excellent course.
Nice course, worth the price
Enjoyed playing this challenging course! Beautiful scenery. Course was in very good shape. Greens were rolling nicely. Good mix of "gettable" holes, and tough ones. I'll be back!
