About
Talega Golf Club is one of southern California's treasures, offering a challenging Fred Couples layout that sits above the "Spanish Village by the Sea." The course winds through canyons and valleys offering scenic views of the surrounding countryside throughout. The diverse layout will test your shot-making skills and there are also several interesting risk-reward opportunities including two reachable par 4s that will please long hitters. There is an abundance of bunkers coming into play, especially along the fairways, and golfers will be faced with the occasional blind shot. The greens are extremely quick and not a single one is flat. Nearly every green has multiple tiers. Water hazards also come into play on a few holes. One of Talega's most memorable holes is the monstrous 13th. This par 5 requires a carry over not just one but two ravines.

Heavily bunkered
No driving range. When I got to the course to check in the starter referred me to a driving range off property. I would have had to load up my bag and drive to range. Crazy for such a nice course not to have a driving range.
It’s almost perfect!
This is 3rd time I played At Talega, really enjoy its layout, so peaceful, Considering becoming its member.
Hidden Gem
I play this course several times a month. It’s my go to especially on weekdays. Great value, fun course. It’s typically in good shape, sometimes a little soggy. The bunkers could use some sand. Outside service staff is excellent.
Pleasantly surprised
Course layout was a highlight. Good course Conditions added to a wonderful experience.
I will be returning again and again.
Nice experience
Putting Green recently opened, but it’s pretty much tee off and go during covid. I like the course, relaxing for the most part. Stay straight or it becomes more difficult

Had a great time playing this course for the first time! Top notch! Would recommend to anyone who is looking for a high level course!
Not worth the price
Way too expensive and the staff took every opportunity to limit what they provide in these “current times”. If that’s the case I’d expect the rate to go down because this course was simply not worth the price. Slowest greens I’ve ever played on and poor maintenance on the tee boxes especially but also around the greens.
Disappointing is the word I’d use.
