Foxtail Golf Club - North Course
About
Foxtail Golf Club in Rohnert Park offers two championship courses, the North and the South, situated in the heart of wine country. The North Course originally opened in 1974 but underwent a major renovation that completely redesigned the layout, improving its conditions and making it more challenging. The par-72 North is considerably longer and more difficult than the par-71 South. The North features multiple doglegs and strategically placed sand traps that will test even the most experienced players. To make the golf course a bit more approachable, water hazards don't play a prominent role, though they do appear on a few holes, and the forward tees are very player friendly. With 36 holes available, Foxtail G.C. is able to host tournaments and events while still having another 18 holes open to the public.

Tail of the Fox Visually Stunning Everytime
Fox “tales.” Don’t believe anyone who says this course is in bad shape. Some tee boxes on par 3 can get rough but par four and five are spectacular. Let me repeat that—spectacular. North especially.
The North is healing from aeration a month ago? Lots of great grass ready to be primed and groomed.
South course looks like greens are already fine., as they are faster than the very true North Course which will always be among my favorite courses in the Bay Area. Both of them are fun.
The North remains a visual paradise, and one of the best tests of golf on the West Coast with its design and character for the purest of golfers, male or female.
Conditions
Tee boxes looked like fairway grass and fairway grass was too high. Lots of clovers, easy to loose ball in the first cut. Greens have a lot more break than appears. Good pace and beautiful weather. Loved the finishing hole.
Rough was rough
I love Foxtail North but the rough was unusually long in spots the was more penal than one would expect. I still had fun and the pace was great. Finished 18 in 3.5 hours.
Meh
Played the south course (I know the north course is supposed to be better). Narrow fairways lined with houses, easy to lose your ball in the rough, uneven tee boxes, really slow pace. Just seemed a tad bit too expensive for what you get.
The facilities aren't awful, the clubhouse seemed good, and the staff was friendly at least.
North is better
The tee boxes are dumpy. Some fairways are terrible, too bad they don’t maintain it like they maintain the North course.
Green is bad.
Good view, good course, but the green condition was very bad, layout of the hole location was confusing.
It was not easy to follow the course( too many cross roads...)
Thought I got a deal
30 dollars for a 150 tee time plus cart I thought it was my lucky day until I got there and was told that we had to play the back nine twice cause the front was being punched. Didn’t say they just punched the back nine the day before. Sand everywhere still! Wish I woulda known before I brought an old friend there
Too bad
Greens were in nice shape. But the tee boxes were just like being in the rough. And no fairways. I like the layout of the South, but conditions were terrible
Sunday afternoon too crowded!
I played 36halls today,.
Morning was good to play at this coursr,
but afternoon, too slow.
Greens are ok fairways have patchy dirt/ dry mud spots tee boxes are terrible
Very good course to enjoy Golf!
Staff are very friedly and kind!
Foxtail North Feb. 2021
The course was in very good condition considering it was February. The weather was good when we started at 1:30 pm, but cooled off quite a bit near the end of the round.
This course is very popular to Koreans around this area.
Excellent for plying golf game,
especially for the long hitters!
Moving up tee time for a single
Early rain in day, so many golfers did not show. Arrived early hoping to get out if there was an earlier opening. Young lady checking me in was about to assign me to another group when pro told her a GolfNow tee time could not be changed, even though there were openings. Bad move in making golfer seem like second class citizen.
Sand traps unplayable.
