Foxtail Golf Club - North Course
About
Foxtail Golf Club in Rohnert Park offers two championship courses, the North and the South, situated in the heart of wine country. The North Course originally opened in 1974 but underwent a major renovation that completely redesigned the layout, improving its conditions and making it more challenging. The par-72 North is considerably longer and more difficult than the par-71 South. The North features multiple doglegs and strategically placed sand traps that will test even the most experienced players. To make the golf course a bit more approachable, water hazards don't play a prominent role, though they do appear on a few holes, and the forward tees are very player friendly. With 36 holes available, Foxtail G.C. is able to host tournaments and events while still having another 18 holes open to the public.

Excellent choice
The north course was in top notch condition. Greens were impeccable. Good challenge.
Always love Foxtail Whoever owns it is doing a great job. The new Sand is awesome. Course well maintained. Staff always friendly and competent. The bartender Amber is super friendly and worked fast with our food and beverages.
Foxtail North May 2025
The pace of play was horrible. It took 3 hours to play 9 holes, so we quit after the 9th.
Best in years
The South has been in the best conditions in years! The greens are in really nice shape. The only thing this course needs now is nice sand. The fairways are in really nice shape also.
Ball Swallower
If it isn't the white clover flowers on the fairways hiding your ball, it's the cut grass clumps they don't pick up when they mow the TALL rough all over the course. You can track your ball until it stops, and it still takes extra time to find it on this course. Stay true!
Terrible
Course was absolutely terrible to play on. Grass was over grown on fairways, grass clumps from mower all over the course. Seems like they do not have a ground crew at all. The pace of play was annoying. Every hole was backed up on the tee boxes. No one pushing pace of play. Everyone seemed to be on the PGA Tour checking wind, ranging every shot. No Marshall to keep people at a proper pace. I couldn’t believe the cost to suck ratio of this course. I would absolutely recommend not coming here to play. However their driving range was nice with the shot tracer computers at each box. This was the only nice thing about the course. Absolutely don’t waste your money to play but recommend to just hit from driving range…. That’s it.
Good track
The round on Monday afternoon played well with a little waiting on some holes. The course was in very good shape.
grass is long in the rainy season. rough is pretty rough and you can lose your ball easily given how long grass is
This course still has bad drainage issues
The South course still has bad drainage issues. Fairways are underwater, bunkers have large pools of water and even the cart paths are under water. The North course is in much better shape.
Good local course
Fairways in good shape and had been mowed. The rough needs to be mowed in some areas to make finding your ball as our whole group lost several balls in it.
A bit wet
Great Staff, Good Course. Just a bit muddy, and a several holes were ‘cart path only’ (Unknown why, only rain lightly for a few hours, 11 days ago).
Also be aware there were no handicap cart flags. I rode with a handicap player and he was only able to complete 11 holes could not continue walking to his ball. Back and knees issues.
