The Links at Summerly
About
The Links at Summerly borders Lake Elsinore, southern California's largest natural lake. The Ortega Mountains and the Cleveland Natural Forest are also the golf course's neighbors. Although it feels nicely secluded, the Links are conveniently just minutes from Temecula. The design tumbles across a rolling terrain that is accented with 3 miles of Scottish-style burns. The natural mounding was deftly incorporated throughout the golf course. The rugged landscape, reminiscent of courses in the British Isles, gives it the look and feel of a traditional links layout. It is a formidable test that features heavily undulated fairways and an abundance of kidney-shaped bunkers. Although there are some tricky holes, each one was designed to offer several different playing strategies. Thought and imagination are required, but you will also have to use every club in your back to navigate the twists and turns of the Links at Summerly.

Bad condition
Super bad condition course, fairway at all holes are bare ground and dirt, bunkers are also just bare ground and there are many stones.
much better this time
finally got the restrooms fixed, greens not so great but O.K., fairways not good at all, you can find some grass to play off.
Wow!!
This used to be a really nice course. I hadn’t played it in about 7 years and thought I would give it a try. Big mistake!! Not sure when they quit watering it but it was a complete dirt patch. Won’t ever be back.
Staff
Derrick went out of his way to make us feel welcome !
great staff
The course itself is struggling probably bc of the drought. Understandable. However the staff is super friendly, I actually booked the wrong day and showed up a day early but they were understanding and let me play. Look FORWARD TO SOME MUCH NEEDED RAIN.
Difficult yet fun
Difficult track. Grass is going dormant. Still a lot of fun at unbeatable value.
This course has been let go
I’ve been here before and it was was great while it was still green. Just went 11/11/22 and the fairways are literally just dirt and bunkers are hard as a rock. just looks like they don’t care for the course anymore, I wouldn’t recommend coming here at all.
Not worth it at all
80% dirt and 20% grass. No direction on cart paths. No starter. No grass so you have no idea where the fairway is. Pay $20 more and find a decent course. Absolute trash
So much potential
This course would be a top shelf course, if it had grass! At the beginning it did, but for years it has bad soil or something. If they wanted to do it right, they would shut it down and get new grass for every fairway.
It is a cool links layout and could be a great track but they refuse to do what is truly necessary unfortunately!
Fast greens
Got to play here yesterday. Greens are rolling nice, faster than they were a few weeks ago. Fairways are starting to go dormant so lies are tight and you get a lot of roll on your woods and long irons. Tee boxes are in good shape. Overall this is hands down the best value around.. Since the course is pretty flat, its perfect for walking if you choose to do so. As always we ate lunch at the clubhouse. Angelo is an amazing chef, we love eating here. I play here often with my son and/or husband and we always have fun.
Wow
$30 for a desert. Family told me it was bad 5 years ago, decided to give it a shot today. Never again. The fairways were unplayable, tee boxes were nice, that’s about it.
TRUE LINK COURSE
This is a link style course no trees, lots of baron fairways and very hard to navigate certain holes. Overall its a better than average course and price is excellent. Condition of fairways are pretty bad but tee boxes and most greens are above average.
Smart golf
Love playing here. You are forced to play smart golf. If you get greedy it will cost you strokes. Play here often with a couple buddies. We all shoot in the 70’s. This course is fun and constantly presents new challenges.
It is a links course so it’s not for everyone. The greens were in good shape. It can be challenging, but I enjoyed it.
Links course conditions
This is a difficult test with very tight lies, fairways in need of grass and some patches of damage on the greens. That said, it’s a links course which has all of that.
Nice layout, no houses to worry about and not crowded on weekdays. The bar and restaurant are excellent and the staff very accommodating and friendly.
Excellent
Tee boxes 10/10, fairways 6/10 (par 3’s 10/10), greens 9/10.. Overall a very challenging layout. Restaurant and staff also a 10/10. Pace of play was good. Definitely worth every penny!
Save your money!
The best parts of the course are the tee boxes and most greens ... very little grass to speak of but you could find a patch here and there to place your ball. We knew ahead of time that it would be hot so we brought some water but there was not a drop to be found anywhere on the course, even a hose was turned off. To make matters worse, the restrooms were locked (and have been for well over a month), with no mention at check in or with any written notices in likely spots. When addressing these issues after our round and asking to speak to the GM, we were told he is not very hands on, which seemed to fall in line with the conditions we experienced. We've played this course numerous times since it opened but I don't think we'll return any time soon, and frankly I don't think this course will survive much longer given the lack of proper management.
FIRE the GM
NO RESTROOMS open NO WATER, this course could be a real health problem. I can live with very bad fairways ,the greens were mostly good tee boxes OK. until the issues are fixed I WILL NOT be back
