The Links at Summerly
About
The Links at Summerly borders Lake Elsinore, southern California's largest natural lake. The Ortega Mountains and the Cleveland Natural Forest are also the golf course's neighbors. Although it feels nicely secluded, the Links are conveniently just minutes from Temecula. The design tumbles across a rolling terrain that is accented with 3 miles of Scottish-style burns. The natural mounding was deftly incorporated throughout the golf course. The rugged landscape, reminiscent of courses in the British Isles, gives it the look and feel of a traditional links layout. It is a formidable test that features heavily undulated fairways and an abundance of kidney-shaped bunkers. Although there are some tricky holes, each one was designed to offer several different playing strategies. Thought and imagination are required, but you will also have to use every club in your back to navigate the twists and turns of the Links at Summerly.

Just Don't
By far.. the worse kept course I've ever stepped foot on in my life. Just don't waste your money until they have some time for upkeep.. and it is a long ways out.
So much potential
Staff is very friendly and professional.
Patio, bar, carts, and view from restaurant area are fantastic! Sad to see such a beautiful venue without grass on the fairways
Making a comeback
I first played this course after it first opened about 11 years ago. I came back to it after finding a ln unbelievable deal on Golf Now. The course wasn’t in the peak condition that I remembered it in. Apparently between the drought and a few changes in ownership in the past few years have been tough on the course. I spoke with the course manager Michael, who was very friendly and helpful. He told us the course was on the comeback with some new people in charge. The greens were in good condition. The fairways were a little sparse, but playable. Nothing that was too out of the question for a links style course.
Worse course I’ve played
I payed 34 bucks for a hot now deal for an afternoon tee time on a Saturday... I wouldn’t even pay ten bucks for a twilight round here during the week... This place won’t last long
Super disappointed
The course was completely dead. If you don’t know the lay out you have no idea where to play off the tee. I don’t think I played off one grass fairway. The green grass on the course was the greens and even those had duck turds all over them. This course is extremely over priced and in even worse condition. There’s a course in San Diego that plays for 10 bucks at twilight that’s in better shape than this.
Bad to worse
Seems like things are getting worse here looks like nothing is being done to make the course any better now the greens are getting bad also.
Great Links course
I loved this links course, the greens are great, if a little tricky, also sand traps and tee off areas. Clubhouse, bar, pro shop and staff all excellent. Grass on the fairways is dorment in places so it looks a bit brown or burnt but that’s not so unusual for a links, with time and some watering it will come back to 5 star condition. Its still a challenging and fun course and if you get lucky your ball can run on great.
WHAO!
Too many large bare areas on fairway. Greens need a lot of help........
Bad shape underconstruction
The course was in bad shape no grass seems like its under construction. They should close it down instead of charging a fee when the course is in bad shape
Real Links golf!
Nestled in the foothills, this piece of property where The Links at Summerly reside, appears underground, as the whole course sits at eye level making it difficult to see landing spots on the rolling fairways, a charming links characteristic. I felt as though I was playing Carnoustie, it was very uniquely European.
I really enjoyed the type of golf that I got to play. It’s different than any other course I’ve played in the area, a fun challenge. The course layout is great, the conditions will only improve, it’s January after all, the grass is Bermuda, which is dormant this time of year. As the year progresses, and the conditions improve, this is going to be a gem, highly recommended, and very easy to get to from San Diego or Los Angeles:
Brown and beat up
Beat up course. Very tight fair ways lots of shots off dirt no water in the ponds Sand Taps are all rock the size of golf balls . compared to pics on golf now that Advertise the course. Night and day difference Wow!
Won’t be back !
Mmmmmm
Course was really bad... greens were okay, other then that course has gone back done....:/ sad to see it go backwards again...
