Alister MacKenzie at Haggin Oaks Golf Course
About
Haggin Oaks boasts two championship golf courses, the Alister MacKenzie Course and the Arcade Creek Course. Designed by the legendary architect known most famously for Augusta National, the Alister MacKenzie Course has a classic but formidable design. The front nine is more open while the back nine is characterized by the stately oaks that line the fairways. The greens are small by modern standards and they play lightning fast. There isn't much water but the Arcade Creek does appear on five holes. The main challenges on this golf course stem from the heavily bunkered greens, which demand accurate shot making and putting. The par-3 16th is the course's signature. A massive oak tree stands to the right of the green and on the other side is the creek, which then wraps around the back. The green also has three distinct sections and if you're not on the right one, you could be facing a dreaded three-putt.

Great old style parkland course
Alistair McKenzie great architect, great course. Must play.
Fun public course
The clubhouse and training facilityies/driving range are top notch. The course was in great condition for the beginning of Feb. There was little brown grass on the course and greens were pretty well kept. For the price it was a good value and a fun day.
Great City Course
They've done a good job cleaning up this course and restoring it's play-ability. Great track for a city course and a very good example of Alistair Mckenzie's style. of design.
Golf Round at Haggin Oaks
Great course. Had a very good time playing with two total strangers. Course was challenging, but not impossible. Pace of play was steady and finished under 4 hours!
greens were in great shape
we played the last week of january after weeks of rain and freezing nights and the course fairways and rough had bad areas but the greens and bunkers were in great shape.
This course has some of the best putting greens in the area.
The pace of play may have been slow but conditions were superb.
Would play again, but not my first choice.
Started off on the wrong foot when the starter squeezed in a group in front of us. Pace of play was too slow for my taste. Good course though
Golf At Haggin Oaks
I play Haggin Oaks often, it was in good shape and the price was a great deal. My only complaint is that with such good prices there seemed to be a lot of inexperienced golfers who were slicing or pulling drives into the next fairway or at a tee box. My friend was hit by a golf ball in our cart as we were coming up the cart path by someone from the next whole who pulled their drive. I was on the fairway on 18 when someone from the 17th tee box pulled it onto my fairway and was almost hit by a ball.
The greens are in great shape, dispite 14+ days of of freeze!
My home course, love it all year round! Staff is friendly and helpful.
Good course to play even in the wintry wet season
When most of the courses are car path only, Haggin Oaks allows cars every hole on the course. Though there are wet spots, overall the drainage is quite good. Had a very enjoyable play with friends yesterday.
Nice course with beautiful, open fairways and moderately difficult greens.
The course was in good condition for December. The fairway grass was long due to recent rains and they were a bit soggy. Overall the greens were in good condition with minor flaws. Pace of play was terrible. Barely finished in 5 hours before sunset.
Hours after rain
Pleasantly surprised how the conditions were after a day of rain. Little fairway roll w/ some water, greens rolled well but as expected poor bunkers.
Good location
Good green and fairway, loud noice from the train freeway and transit, overall nice golf course
Overall Average. Fairways great. Greens need a lot of attention.
Overall, the course was nice. Conditions were damp. Fairways and rough were manicured nicely and in great shape. GREENS WERE AWFUL. This course's greens need the attention that its sister courses Bing Maloney and Bartley Cavanaugh are getting. Same ownership group, Morton Golf, but Bing and Bartley's greens are in far superior shape (especially Bartley Cavanaugh).
A fun city course. Has everything to do with golf!
A great place to play & practice. Medium difficulty compared to some other courses in the area. They are currently making some changes to up grade conditions. There are 2 courses available at this facility, it is very popular.
this course is challenging and fun .
As Always had a great time out there. The pace is is still a little slow, but not real bad. I like playing the Mackenzie course and will recommend this to others.
Good Municipal Course
Course is well maintained, has wide fairways and large greens, and also some large bunkers. But overall plays very fairly. Saw large group of wild turkeys and even a coyote crossing the course, gives a downtown course the feel of being in the country. Has 5 par 5's and some are long and challenging. A little pricey on the weekends, but still worth it.
At GolfNow prices, a real bargain!
Big, expansive course should play easier than it does. Greens presently pretty quick but still bumpy. Super Shop must have every golf item there is.
Pace of game is very slow on Friday.
The pace of the game for Friday is usually slow started from 9 holes through 18 holes, so expect a 5 hours play.
