Alister MacKenzie at Haggin Oaks Golf Course
About
Haggin Oaks boasts two championship golf courses, the Alister MacKenzie Course and the Arcade Creek Course. Designed by the legendary architect known most famously for Augusta National, the Alister MacKenzie Course has a classic but formidable design. The front nine is more open while the back nine is characterized by the stately oaks that line the fairways. The greens are small by modern standards and they play lightning fast. There isn't much water but the Arcade Creek does appear on five holes. The main challenges on this golf course stem from the heavily bunkered greens, which demand accurate shot making and putting. The par-3 16th is the course's signature. A massive oak tree stands to the right of the green and on the other side is the creek, which then wraps around the back. The green also has three distinct sections and if you're not on the right one, you could be facing a dreaded three-putt.

Great Course but SLOW pace of play
Great course but the pace of play was very slow to the point that the two times I played there I cut off the last 2 holes.
the course is convienent to get to
The course conditions were good except the greens. They had a fungus and were in poor condition. I think we should have been made aware of this before the round or at booking. Putting is importiant to me and this made it challenging.
Good course for the novice golfer.
Wide open fairways, not really long from the burgandy tees, and very little trouble. Several of the greens were a little rough compared to other courses I play. The sand traps had more dirt than sand in them, but it was late in the season when I played it.
good pace of play for a very busy day
crew is doing a lot of work to get course in good shape. fairways are nice. more people need to fix their ball marks on the greens. over all a good value for seniors weekdays, and twilight on weekends
Greens were in bad shape
Overall the course was in great shape. Best T-boxes, flat and and lots of grass. Greens still have not healed, lots of sand and bare spots.
Excellent wide fairway for those ziggzagers
My first time At Haggin Oaks. Heard a lot of great things from my buddy and other expert golfers. It was easier to locate your balls in wide fairways. Lush and green, kinda wish I was walking instead of being in the cart. Very challenging for a beginner like myself.
pace of play great.
Very good course. Driving range is automatic . Good tee times always available .
Course played fair and greens very fast.
Course played hard for me, playing it for the first time. The greens were fast and so was the play.Walked the course in 3 1/2 hours and enjoyed it. Iwill be back.
This course is nice for the price
This course is worth playing with the deals they offer. The day I played was a bit slow, but the course was in good shape. The staff is nice and the cart girl came by regularly. Amazing pro shop, great driving range, and decent course. Definitely worth playing if you can get a good deal!
A Sacramento Standard
Pace of play could be faster. Course was in average condition leading up to the "State Fair" tourney.
