About
Mount Dora Golf Club is a historic, member-owned golf club open to the public, located about 35 miles northwest of downtown Orlando. The course began to form in 1945, shortly after World War II when returning G.I.'s petitioned the city for land to build a golf course.
A second nine was added in 1959 and the clubhouse was build in the 1960s. Set on just 85 acres, the course bills itself as "The longest 5,700 yards in Florida" thanks to an abundance of water and up and downhill lies that will demand precision over power.

41-35; 76! Cold Beer!
It was alright
I would say this is a good value for the money. They layout is nice. I prefer the back nine. The conditions were OK. It was OK all around. The staff were great.
Weird greens
They had aerated the greens a while ago, but I’ve now gone a couple weeks later today and the greens had this weird green texture to it so there was like lines across the entire green, which made it bounce and break wierd
The layout of the course was absolutely stunning. Par 4 and par 5 definitely a longer course than most, which makes it that much better! Overall just great, the only CON I have to say, nothing was mowed. The teeboxes were long and the rough was exaggerated long. You weren’t finding any ball if you went in there. It looked like they were fixing the greens too but they weren’t horrible.
Wonderful historic course
Great staff and excellently maintained. Greens were very good. Two very memorable holes that I will look forward to another chance at very soon!
Brian was amazing!
I accidentally booked a teatime for June 16, rather than today, June 15. Thinking it was today, I arrived to check in only to learn of my mistake. Despite my oversight, Brian was able to work me in rather quickly. His friendly attitude, kindness and willingness to resolve my mistake, and allow me to play anyway was a very pleasant surprise. Additionally, as I was waiting, he gave me an interesting history lesson of the club, which was a real treat!

What's that on the green?
Pace terrible, their league play in the morn is slow and unwilling to let faster players pass, 1hr 45min to play 7 holes. Greens are full of dead holes and uneven grass making it impossible to putt. Left after 7 because didn't want to play a 5 1/2 hr. round.
Greens are in bad shape
Several greens had divot size portions of the green missing. It looked like one of their pieces of equipment leaked oil on several greens. Not good,even for 21.00.
It has potential
The course is a gem that needs to be polish. Half of the greens were in bad shape as well as some of the fairways. Also some of the tee boxes need work. They need to fix the signs to guide the players better, the layout is a bit confusing at some point. Turn the holes markers forward and that will fix the problem. Very kind staff.
Old Course
Improving from old condition could still make
some
more upgrades to
modernize but overall good test for the money.
