Mount Dora Golf Club
About
Mount Dora Golf Club is a historic, member-owned golf club open to the public, located about 35 miles northwest of downtown Orlando. The course began to form in 1945, shortly after World War II when returning G.I.'s petitioned the city for land to build a golf course.
A second nine was added in 1959 and the clubhouse was build in the 1960s. Set on just 85 acres, the course bills itself as "The longest 5,700 yards in Florida" thanks to an abundance of water and up and downhill lies that will demand precision over power.

My home course
I love Mount Dora! The staff is always friendly and helpful. I always manage to have a great time here. That being said, the course itself was in pretty rough shape this time around, but I would attribute that to the current drought we’re experiencing. It’s hard enough to keep my lawn happy, let alone a full golf course.
I will always support MDGC and return weekend after weekend for a fun 18 holes!
Love it
I always love this course and even more after shooting a 91, which is a terrific score for someone usually in the 98-105 range.
As a snowbird, I’m leaving soon but will return to MDGC in the fall!
Great time
The “season” has ended and the crowds are gone! Playing golf ⛳️ is most enjoyable! The course has a great amount of grass in comparison to the other local courses making play much nicer! The layout is challenging. I’ve always liked this course. Can’t wait to return in the fall!
Challenging course that needs a second round.
The course has a great layout. Hilly with plenty of slope. Hence why worth playing a second time. I hope to play smarter the next time. Definitely a target shot strategy needed. The greens and traps were in great shape. The only disappointment were the fairways. They were a little rough and thin in many dpots grass wise. Yet in fairness to the golf club, it has been very dry since the first of the year. Excited to play thid course a second time as we are getting some moisture currently.. Great vslue for the money.
Short but Interesting
Most all the greens are turtle backs and not all same speed making holding green and putting inconsistant. Pace of play a bit slow for us today.
Well worth the visit
First time playing yhis course. Layout is great. The only downer was yhe fairways were extremely rough and lacked grass. Central Florida has been extremely dry the past few months. I will give it another go. Greens were very nice. Very little water to contend with ,yet the trees more than make up for that. Definitely going to play again soon!
Mount Dora - Always a great round
The greens offer up a real challenge.. they have plenty of break. The fairways are are easy to hit and and the tee boxes are not bad.
“The Old Course”
Referred to as the old course because it reminds me of the courses I played back in the Midwest as a youngster. Fairway slopes on some holes and all greens makes this course challenging!!
Love this course
MDGC has more grass than the other area courses! Obviously water is not an issue and that makes play so much nicer!
Pass on this one
Not worth the $40 green fee.
Tees bad. Have no idea what was fairway, so hard to rate. The course is loaded with crab grass. Carts appear to be 5 or 6 years old and show it. Buyer beware
Fun course, good value
Cool layout. More elevation than most courses you’ll find in Florida. Tee boxes and fairways were average, some in better conditions than others. However, the greens were all in very good shape. Only small negative was the person working in the pro shop was very rude and unpleasant.
