Tierra Verde Golf Club
About
Located in a remote southwest part of the city, Tierra Verde is the successful result of Arlington’s Parks and Recreation Department’s effort to provide an upscale, daily fee municipal to complement the other public golf options in town.
Labeled with the new and prestigious Audubon International Signature Certification, this course was the first in Texas and the first municipal course in the world to achieve that honor. The certification signifies that the course was “designed, constructed, and maintained using wildlife conservation and habitat enhancement, water quality management, and water conservation.” What this means for the inconsistent hack is that sprayed shots are not out-of-bounds, but instead buried in a “protected environment.” Unfortunately, the penalty still applies and you’ll need to take your drop. The opening hole is a good example–it’s a basic 355-yard hole, but anything sliced right will find a plum tree thicket, which is the same as hitting it into a lake.
In terms of strategy, you’ll be able to enjoy the generous fairways, but the approaches will require much more precision. Look at the scorecard and get your pars in on the shorter holes, then manage your game to avoid huge numbers on the more difficult holes.
One of the better holes on the front is No. 8, a 518 yard doglegger left that bends hard enough to favor a severe hook. Watch out for the multi-level green and its deceptive turns.
Water is more prominent on the back, as you’ll see on No. 9, a short par 4 that requires a tee shot over water. The narrow fairway squeezes toward the green, and it’s nice to know that the green widens on the back side. The par 5 No. 13 is a birdie hole if you pay attention to the flag position on the huge figure 8 shaped green. This one has water off the tee, as does No. 12. In fact, if you’re short on balls at the turn, you should stock up. Water impacts play time and time again. No. 18, a long par 4 at 437 yards, involves a creek in the fairway that must be carried on the approach.
Other notes: Another bonus at Tierra Verde is the club’s three-hole practice course and lighted driving range.
Getting there : Take US 287 south off of I-20. Find Eden Road and turn right. The entrance is on the left.

Nice course
Nice layout and close to home. I like playing here but cost is too high for this course
Course is in great shape!!!
Course was in excellent condition, especially the greens. They rolled fast and true. Not sure if the greens keeper had a bad day but the pin positions were very tough and unforgiving, but it was a true test of your entire golf game! Great time!!!
We got paired up with two great golfers, and had a blast.
Teed off just before the price change
Got on $10 less than the twilight price and 15 minutes before the price change. Played 18 in 3 hours. Greens in great shape, pretty fast. Fairway is dead but that's everywhere in Texas in February.
Great course
Course was in great shape . Greens rolled perfect .
My home course
I travel for a living and play over 100 rounds a year. Tierra Verde is the course I compare all the others to. Across the country, few are any better. It will eat your lunch if you can't keep it in the fairway. I recommend this course to anyone traveling to D/FW. If you have time to play only once in my home town, you have to play Tierra Verde!
Tierra Verde
Course was in excellent shape; firm greens; well groomed fairways and a beautiful day to boot - hard to improve on that!!!
Excellent
The course was in great shape. Greens were excellent and very fast.
Overall Good
Course was in pretty good shape. Pace was a bit slow but that's because of the players in front of us. Overall good day of golf.
Great layout!!
This course was a lot of fun. Has some tough holes and some easy holes. Fairways and greens were in great condition. I would definatly play here again
Great course
Requires that you keep the ball in play. Tight course.
Nice layout and good value
Slow pace but Marshall made an effort to speed it up. Greens a little fuzzy and slow, fairways very good condition, some tee boxes a mess but overall good condition.
Nice layout
I enjoyed the course overall, greens were very good, fairways good but over-watered. Especially, just in front of the greens too much water, many muddy spots and very soft conditions. Impossible to run shots up on these greens. Nevertheless, a good course!
Very Good Course !
Course is in very good shape. Greens hold and roll true.
Great Layout
Course was in great condition. The layout is one of the best in DFW.
Really nice course
Along with Fossil Creek, this is my favorite course in Tarrant County. Beautiful native vegetation surrounds all holes. Fairways in great shape, along with greens. I'm new to the game but have played about 12 courses in area and this one is right up there. Nice wildlife too, all kinds of critters running around the course.
Great Round
Beautiful course. No GPS and no yardage books made this course a serious challenge for the first time. Course was in great condition and pace was good. On par with Texas Star in Euless. A new favorite.
Best DFW
Me and my friends play all over the DFW area and this course hands down is the best. If you are in the fairway you will have great grass to hit off of for your next shot. Even if you get in the rough it's not that bad to hit out of. Book on golf now and get great prices
Very Nice Hild Course
We enjoyed the course, really great shape.
The fairways & greens were perfect for a public golf course.
Great place
Course was in great shape and we played in 3 1/2 hrs
Every Hole feels secluded
Well designed course. Plenty of balls set out for chipping practice. Greens and fairways are in great shape. Lots of trees keep every hole feel private and secluded. It's a bit pricey to play, but more than worth it. Marshall keeps the pace going. You will enjoy this course
