Tierra Verde Golf Club
About
Located in a remote southwest part of the city, Tierra Verde is the successful result of Arlington’s Parks and Recreation Department’s effort to provide an upscale, daily fee municipal to complement the other public golf options in town.
Labeled with the new and prestigious Audubon International Signature Certification, this course was the first in Texas and the first municipal course in the world to achieve that honor. The certification signifies that the course was “designed, constructed, and maintained using wildlife conservation and habitat enhancement, water quality management, and water conservation.” What this means for the inconsistent hack is that sprayed shots are not out-of-bounds, but instead buried in a “protected environment.” Unfortunately, the penalty still applies and you’ll need to take your drop. The opening hole is a good example–it’s a basic 355-yard hole, but anything sliced right will find a plum tree thicket, which is the same as hitting it into a lake.
In terms of strategy, you’ll be able to enjoy the generous fairways, but the approaches will require much more precision. Look at the scorecard and get your pars in on the shorter holes, then manage your game to avoid huge numbers on the more difficult holes.
One of the better holes on the front is No. 8, a 518 yard doglegger left that bends hard enough to favor a severe hook. Watch out for the multi-level green and its deceptive turns.
Water is more prominent on the back, as you’ll see on No. 9, a short par 4 that requires a tee shot over water. The narrow fairway squeezes toward the green, and it’s nice to know that the green widens on the back side. The par 5 No. 13 is a birdie hole if you pay attention to the flag position on the huge figure 8 shaped green. This one has water off the tee, as does No. 12. In fact, if you’re short on balls at the turn, you should stock up. Water impacts play time and time again. No. 18, a long par 4 at 437 yards, involves a creek in the fairway that must be carried on the approach.
Other notes: Another bonus at Tierra Verde is the club’s three-hole practice course and lighted driving range.
Getting there : Take US 287 south off of I-20. Find Eden Road and turn right. The entrance is on the left.

Great course
Requires that you keep the ball in play. Tight course.
Nice layout and good value
Slow pace but Marshall made an effort to speed it up. Greens a little fuzzy and slow, fairways very good condition, some tee boxes a mess but overall good condition.
Nice layout
I enjoyed the course overall, greens were very good, fairways good but over-watered. Especially, just in front of the greens too much water, many muddy spots and very soft conditions. Impossible to run shots up on these greens. Nevertheless, a good course!
Very Good Course !
Course is in very good shape. Greens hold and roll true.
Great Layout
Course was in great condition. The layout is one of the best in DFW.
Really nice course
Along with Fossil Creek, this is my favorite course in Tarrant County. Beautiful native vegetation surrounds all holes. Fairways in great shape, along with greens. I'm new to the game but have played about 12 courses in area and this one is right up there. Nice wildlife too, all kinds of critters running around the course.
Great Round
Beautiful course. No GPS and no yardage books made this course a serious challenge for the first time. Course was in great condition and pace was good. On par with Texas Star in Euless. A new favorite.
Best DFW
Me and my friends play all over the DFW area and this course hands down is the best. If you are in the fairway you will have great grass to hit off of for your next shot. Even if you get in the rough it's not that bad to hit out of. Book on golf now and get great prices
Very Nice Hild Course
We enjoyed the course, really great shape.
The fairways & greens were perfect for a public golf course.
Great place
Course was in great shape and we played in 3 1/2 hrs
Every Hole feels secluded
Well designed course. Plenty of balls set out for chipping practice. Greens and fairways are in great shape. Lots of trees keep every hole feel private and secluded. It's a bit pricey to play, but more than worth it. Marshall keeps the pace going. You will enjoy this course
Good experience
staff was very friendly and helpful. Course was in excellent condition. Pace was a little slow but the staff got the group in front of us moving. This is a hidden jewel in the metroplex and we will play it again.
Great course, high value muni
Course was in great shape and we played in 3 hours. Originally they paired four of us up. All of us got a hotdeal to play for about $25. We ended up splitting up into 2's and counting the twosome that took off in front of us that made 3 pairs of 2. Didn't really see anyone else on the course all day and all three groups played at a very good pace. Really enjoyed this course. It's far enough outside the urban area's without being hard to get to. It's designed so you rarely see any of the other holes. Fairways and greens were in great shape. The conservation mentality has served to create a beautiful atmosphere to enjoy the day.
Great if UNDER $40.00
I love this course, and have had fun and challenging rounds every time I've played. What I do t love is the full price teetime! I'd never ever pay $70 to play here - it's NOT even close to a $70 round. Wait for the deals and you'll feel good about it.
Wish I could have Finished it
My buddies and I played a twilight game at Tierra Verde which I absolutely recommend. The price drops substantially and a group of fairly average players should be able to play all 18 before sundown (at least during summer months). Can be difficult to find, but all that really means is that traffic through the course may be lighter than other courses in the metroplex.
Great course
The best municipal course I've ever played. The staff was welcoming and friendly. The greens and fairways were in great shape. We had so much fun we played the first nine again.
great golf
Excellent golf and it was in great shape. They are aerating this week so call ahead of you're playing.
Outstanding Course
We played this course two days in a row, it is in great shape.
I've played here many times before, but this is as good as it gets. This course in excellent condition right now with great fairways and greens. They have done a wonderful job from early spring to get greens back. I played in March and wasn't sure if they would be able to get these greens back this year, but they surpassed that expectation. All I can say is play it if you can.
great time to play
Overall, great time.Pace of play was unheard of for a sunday.Under 4 hrs!Course is really nice right now.Play it.
