The Golf Club at Hilton Head Lakes
About
The Golf Club at Hilton Head Lakes is a Tom Fazio design that is challenging, but with five sets of tees it is versatile enough for players of all skill levels. Fazio deftly utilized the native wetlands and numerous lakes that are interspersed across the landscape, incorporating them along the expansive fairways and angled greens. The tricky greens have been carefully molded and contoured to offer a variety of pin placements. In addition to the water hazards, there are also numerous strategically placed bunkers lurking throughout. The golf course will test your shot-making skills as well as your creativity. To complement the golf course, Hilton Head Lakes offers an equally impressive 36-acre, double-ended practice facility with target greens, bunkers, multiple practice greens, and even a par-3 short course.

Very Nice Course
Course was very wet (cart path only) but fairways were beutiful green and the greens were in great shape. Staff was very friendly. New clubhouse is awesome!
Great course! Will return!
This is an excellent golf course, easy to navigate (right off the highway) and fantastic value. I recommend it. The staff was very helpful and friendly. Very new clubhouse with excellent bar options.
Played course on way to Hilton Head,No grass in fairways, old bunkers need to be filled in and greens very bumpy. Not impressed
It was cart paths only. Course very wet, no roll on the ball. Most balls would plug in the fairway. Was not a good day to play.
The course was very wet
The course was very wet, so it was cart path only. Tough walking on parts of the fairway because of the soaked ground.. Greens were running true though.
It would be nice if the restaurant/bar stayed open longer. It was already closed when we finished our round at 4:30.
Looking forward to playing it again when it's dry.
good condition and new pro shop ad club house with restaurant.
have played course many times. course was in very good condition. played 18 holes in 3 hours. fairways and greens in good shape. new clubhouse and pro shop. great day.
Great Value
The course was in great shape. Unfortunately they had no control over the rain they received the week before and it
was cartpath only and some areas were very very wet. I definitely would recommend this course.
Conditions
Actually I think the course was to wet for play, most bunkers wash out, greens and tee boxes great, but lots and I mean lots of casual water.
Course was wet; Cart path only which made for long walks to play shots. Greens rolled true and consistent; probably running 9-10. Very good pace of play considering the cart path only conditions. Fairways in good condition, but very wet. Didn't seem to drain well. Overall, good value. Back nine has more character than front which seemed like holes were similar.
Hilton Lakes
We had a great time. Course was in good shape and local staff was great.
Hidden gem
25 miles from Hilton Head, this is an amazing course. Any golfer, regardless of ability will find this s fun course to play. Difficulty lies in the tee box chosen. Greens are fast and true. If you played this course 3 years ago like I did, it has improved immensely. Loved every minute of it
wide open
great views, plenty of wildlife, hazards can be seen from tee box, except # 9, however,, we were warned by the starter( water in front of green)
perfect grass in the fairways and good speed on the greens
Golf
Course in excellent condition. Wide open fairways along with quick greens. Highly recommend. Course played out in pine barrens and through new construction homes.
Sand and crowns
This course is interesting to play with mostly wide fairways and holes with challenges. The holes are spread nicely so that you do not have holes right next to each other. There are two problem areas. The sand bunkers need sand. When you land in a bunker you are forced to try and scoop the ball out as the sand is not deep enough to allow a true sand shot. Another problem is that every hole is crowned on the putting greens. It is almost impossible to lag the ball in without it being pushed to the side or stopped by the crown around the hole caused by not creating the new hole properly by course personnel. If you hit the ball firmer, the crowning will elevate the ball over the hole. I do not think course personnel are spending any time leveling the hole area. There is equipment available at golf course supply companies for less than $30 that would solve this problem.
