The Golf Club at Hilton Head Lakes
About
The Golf Club at Hilton Head Lakes is a Tom Fazio design that is challenging, but with five sets of tees it is versatile enough for players of all skill levels. Fazio deftly utilized the native wetlands and numerous lakes that are interspersed across the landscape, incorporating them along the expansive fairways and angled greens. The tricky greens have been carefully molded and contoured to offer a variety of pin placements. In addition to the water hazards, there are also numerous strategically placed bunkers lurking throughout. The golf course will test your shot-making skills as well as your creativity. To complement the golf course, Hilton Head Lakes offers an equally impressive 36-acre, double-ended practice facility with target greens, bunkers, multiple practice greens, and even a par-3 short course.

The Golf Club at Hilton Head Lakes
I played this course two years ago. The new club house is very nice. The course is wet and soggy and I don't believe that it had rained very much. Mud was flying everywhere. It was cart path only and that was understandable, as the course was so wet. I don't know if it is a common occurrence, as I didn't remember it being so wet when I played here before.
Still wet.
Still wet. Cartpath only except for five holes., hasn’t rained in a week, but coarse is still very wet. Greens and tee boxes in great shape. Love the back nine layout, no homes and very scenic. Completely different than the wide open front nine.
WET
Cart path only. Was not advised when booking. Course is apparently frequently wet and cart path only.

Nice course a bit wet
Nice course only negative was that it was cart path only and if you do not hit it center fairway to the right there is quite a bit of walking may as well be pull cart only. I get the idea it does not drain well. Really like the course outside of that matter and will play it again next Hilton Head trip.
Should be closed to allow to dry out.
This course was not in very good winter condition. Five holes were walk only and this is a very wide course so, depending on where you hit, there was a lot of walking. Most of the other holes looked good from the cart path but when you actually got onto the grass it was very sparse and muddy, quite difficult to get a good hit off of. Greens were good but the rest of the course was almost too mushy to be played on. Also, check-in person was not too friendly. Not really a good first impression.

Great Course and Value
Played on a day that the high was 49 and it was breezy. There was hardly anyone on the course. I was very impressed that the club called me about 2 1/2 hours before our tee time and told us that it was cart path only. I've never had another course do that. The fairways were fairly wide and were in pretty good condition considering that it was January and they've had a lot of rain. The green were also in good condition for January.
The staff were very nice.
My only complaint was that the bar/restaurant is closed on Mondays. There were no drinks or snacks available.
First Time.... Last Time
Not sure this course can handle any amount of water because including the par 3's we needed to stay on cart path on 7 other holes. Locals had said that it had been 2 weeks since the last significant rain.
Everywhere was wet.... maybe the houses around the course should be built on the course as well.

Very Nice Course
Course was very wet (cart path only) but fairways were beutiful green and the greens were in great shape. Staff was very friendly. New clubhouse is awesome!
Great course! Will return!
This is an excellent golf course, easy to navigate (right off the highway) and fantastic value. I recommend it. The staff was very helpful and friendly. Very new clubhouse with excellent bar options.
Played course on way to Hilton Head,No grass in fairways, old bunkers need to be filled in and greens very bumpy. Not impressed
It was cart paths only. Course very wet, no roll on the ball. Most balls would plug in the fairway. Was not a good day to play.
The course was very wet
The course was very wet, so it was cart path only. Tough walking on parts of the fairway because of the soaked ground.. Greens were running true though.
It would be nice if the restaurant/bar stayed open longer. It was already closed when we finished our round at 4:30.
Looking forward to playing it again when it's dry.
good condition and new pro shop ad club house with restaurant.
have played course many times. course was in very good condition. played 18 holes in 3 hours. fairways and greens in good shape. new clubhouse and pro shop. great day.
Great Value
The course was in great shape. Unfortunately they had no control over the rain they received the week before and it
was cartpath only and some areas were very very wet. I definitely would recommend this course.
Conditions
Actually I think the course was to wet for play, most bunkers wash out, greens and tee boxes great, but lots and I mean lots of casual water.
