About
The Golf Club at Hilton Head Lakes is a Tom Fazio design that is challenging, but with five sets of tees it is versatile enough for players of all skill levels. Fazio deftly utilized the native wetlands and numerous lakes that are interspersed across the landscape, incorporating them along the expansive fairways and angled greens. The tricky greens have been carefully molded and contoured to offer a variety of pin placements. In addition to the water hazards, there are also numerous strategically placed bunkers lurking throughout. The golf course will test your shot-making skills as well as your creativity. To complement the golf course, Hilton Head Lakes offers an equally impressive 36-acre, double-ended practice facility with target greens, bunkers, multiple practice greens, and even a par-3 short course.

Awesome course
This course was awesome. Greens were in fantastic condition. Great course and a lot of fun to play.
Great course for the money
HHL is a cart course. There are some long distances between green to the next tee. I have played this course several times, but this is my first review. It is a good course for the greens fee rate. The staff is first-rate. Will meet you as you pull in and will accompany you to your car when you leave. Even though it is set up in a subdivision, the homes do not come into play unless you are a hack.

Nice course
My wife and I enjoyed playing this course. They are currently going through some construction - new club house. There is a dirt parking lot - not an issue since it was dry. The two bathrooms on the course were porta-potties - full bathroom at clubhouse. The staff were friendly upon arrival and at check-in. They do have some warm up areas/range - nice. Saw alligators at a safe distance. No snakes were seen - that's a good thing, but told there are some out there - be cautious if ball goes out-of-bounds. Staff helped at the end of the round. No beverage cart during our round, which I did not expect on a mid-week morning. I did see one parked, so it's probably available on busy days/weekends.

nice drive around a golf course on a beautiful day.
My wife had an emergency so we had to leave early. Pro was somewhat gracious.

they need a resourseful ranger
5 1/2 hours!!! One of my favorite courses. Front nine took 2:45. I called in and they said the ranger was checking for a problem. We all found out when we finished there was a terribly slow foursome that ruined the day for everyone, but they were not addressed. I like this course. Since they rely on tourist for some of their traffic, they need to be responsive to situations like this word of mouth means everything down here. Better to warn, then remove slow golfers, than lose future returnees.

It was a good course to start the year off with. It is wide open. The greens need a little work. The staff was very friendly.

Excellent Course for the Value
Really nice course. Very nice layout with nice greens and fairways. They have a excellent practice facility with a practice area with extra holes for practicing your short game.

Very nice
Very nice course. Unfortunately, I left a garmin watch in the cart and it wasn't returned. My bad....but wouldn't it be nice if an honest person would return it. I hope they can't find a charger for it!!!!

Worth the price
THe course is about 10 years old, the layout is challenging, however conditions are at best fair. The fairways are thin, they do not seem to fertilize or aireate much. They have not improved over the years. The greens at this time of year have a lot of poa and are rough. Green fees are generally lowest in the area and it is a good buy for the money.

Wide open fairways with really no rough to speak of.
Nice design for the most part with nicely placed bunkers and one or two holes where water comes into play. Fairways are very tight giving you a nice roll on drives. If you are on your game the course will allow you to score well, which makes for a very pleasant round, especially if you are on vacation. The price is right with a hot time from Golf now.

Enjoyed the Fazio Layout
First time we played the course. Great conditions for February. Fairways provided good lies and greens putted well. Great value for the money. Will play again soon. We even saw a young Bobcat on the cart path between holes!

Very much enjoyed my round and expect to be back. Better hit the driver well. Many holes surprisingly played long. Greens were great.

Nice Round of Golf
Course was soft from all the rain that has pounded the area, but starting to dry out. Tee boxes and greens were good. Have played here before and will play again. Challenging layout from the senior tees for me and from forward tees for my wife.

Great value with Golf Now
Course is on huge layout. Not walk-able for seniors of have a defibrillator in your group.Widest fairways of any course in the country. Temporary club house but adequate. first beer $1!

crazy Canucks
Hard time to find the course, the new clubhouse was under construction and had no signs to where to go to the temporary clubhouse I had to ask where it was. The course was ok, good track a lot of interesting holes, need to indicate yardage on the cart path or even colored lines, blue for 200 yards, white for 150 and red for 100 especially when it's cart path only. The day I played, the course was soggy, muddy, you ball plugged almost every time, they had a lot of rain, the greens though were nice and actually rolling fast and no bumps. Hey for me this is February and playing golf instead of shoveling snow. I would definitely keep this in my agenda for next time. Must play

Good at the right price
Wasn't expecting much (prime conditions) when playing on groundhog day. Course was crowded, but pace of play was excellent. Not laid out very well, however, you are driving all over the place to get from green to tee. Carts on path only led to a lot of walking just to figure out distances. They need to mark on pathway distances like 150 and 200 yd. Greens were in excellent shape and once it gets a chance to mature, will be a challenge for all types of golfers.
