About
The Golf Club at Hilton Head Lakes is a Tom Fazio design that is challenging, but with five sets of tees it is versatile enough for players of all skill levels. Fazio deftly utilized the native wetlands and numerous lakes that are interspersed across the landscape, incorporating them along the expansive fairways and angled greens. The tricky greens have been carefully molded and contoured to offer a variety of pin placements. In addition to the water hazards, there are also numerous strategically placed bunkers lurking throughout. The golf course will test your shot-making skills as well as your creativity. To complement the golf course, Hilton Head Lakes offers an equally impressive 36-acre, double-ended practice facility with target greens, bunkers, multiple practice greens, and even a par-3 short course.

Perfect Day
Other then finding the temporary starting point until the club house is built everything was great. Extremely friendly staff and starter. Course has wide fairways and the greens were in great shape. Will definitely be coming back.

Almost unplayably wet
We expected that it may be cart path only , which it was, but we found seven of the first 11 holes too wet to really play. We gave up after 11 holes. When course conditions are this bad, management should close the course or offer a discounted repeat play at a later and drier date

A really enjoyable round of golf.....
It is literally three minutes from I-95 at Exit 8, so easy access is an understatement.
A brand new clubhouse is under construction and looks like it is going to be a fabulous facility. A temporary unit serves as a clubhouse but it is extremely well maintained and fully stocked with everything you would need and/or want. I found the staff to be some of the most cordial, amiable, helpful and professional that I have encountered and a special thanks to Kole who answered every and any question I had with regards to the course. The course was in great condition with tightly mowed fairways, raked bunkers and greens that were in excellent condition that rolled true. The layout is perfect for all shot shapes and offers a challenge to the high, mid and low handicap golfer. Pace of play is average for this time of year.
I truly enjoyed everything about my experience at this course and I believe you will as well.......

New course for us
Our foursome thoroughly enjoyed this course. The greens are in excellent condition and fairways are wide open. It is a course that is fair for average women golfers as well as men. We will return.

A really well laid out golf course with great character.
With a little TLC this course could be spectacular. I especially liked the greens- very consistent. I played the blue tees and was tested with all of my clubs. A little overwatered in spots on the tees and fairways, but a very fun course to play. Great value for the money!!

GOOD COURSE
I'd play this course again. Found it on web by chance. Played in very damp, windy overcast conditions - a little rain last few holes. Played on a Monday morning - had a 10am tee time. We showed up a little after 9am and they fit us into the cue. The greens were in great shape, fairways wide, but tight lies. The staff was great and so was the price. Enjoyed the round - lots of water; but, not in play unless you have trouble hitting wide fairways. In a very new development - clubhouse in a trailer, but well stocked.

Great value & friendly staff
The weather was great and the course conditions good - only had to stay on the cart path for 2 holes. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful - really made you feel welcome. There are lots of doglegs and plenty of water, but the hole alignments are fair and always give you a way into the green. Everything was mowed - tees, greens & fairways. The food was sandwiches and drinks, but fresh and tasty. We thoroughly enjoyed this course, would recommend it to other average golfers and will definitely return - great value for the money.

Hilton Head Links
Course was way overbooked but everything but the sand traps were in great shape. Driving range was closed again which was irritating. Overbooking caused slow play and up to 20 min wait on some tee boxes. Greens rolled pure and quick

Lots of walking
Lots of walking with the cart path only , since it had rained a lot over the weekend. Pretty wet under foot also. The greens where very good. Rolled very nice.

Return Visit
My second visit to HH Lakes, a couple of years apart. The course has matured somewhat compared to the first visit. Good greens but the fairways still somewhat lacking. Worth the visit for an inexpensive leisurely round of golf.

Overview
Course needs signage to be able to find it. Seems to be a new course with high expectations for I hope the NEAR future. Will play it again.
Hidden gem
If you are staying on the island, spend the extra 10 minutes and keep driving by all the other golf courses to play this one! This may be where I end up in 20 years when it is time to retire.

HHI REVIEW
The course was in good shape, the couse favors the average golfer fairly wide fairways. The greens were in good shape played on the slow side. Overall good value for the money, take advantage of the hot deals.

Great conditions.
I played with a coworker and his father and all of us were impressed with the course. I got a great deal and they gave me a rain check since one member of my group cancelled at last minute. Very nice of them since it was a prepaid hot deal on GolfNow. Greans are in excellent shape and fairways a in great shape as well with only a couple areas that I noticed were starting to get overrun with weeds. It is a very open course as there are not a lot of houses build on course yet. I hope they can keep the course up as time passes, it will be a great place to play as the trees and other landscaping mature. Only negative is the sand traps but in there defense we have had a lot of rain recently but they do need some work.

Long but open course
A very wide open and fairly flat course. But also very long. Easy enough to be enjoyable for beginners (which is what most of my group was), but a few challenges to more advanced players, like small greens that are often surrounded by hazards and rough.

This new course is excellent for the price
Excellent course for the money, we booked our tee times using Golf Now for $25/person. The staff was very friendly and professional. The greens were in very good shapes. I will play this course again.
