About
The Golf Club at Hilton Head Lakes is a Tom Fazio design that is challenging, but with five sets of tees it is versatile enough for players of all skill levels. Fazio deftly utilized the native wetlands and numerous lakes that are interspersed across the landscape, incorporating them along the expansive fairways and angled greens. The tricky greens have been carefully molded and contoured to offer a variety of pin placements. In addition to the water hazards, there are also numerous strategically placed bunkers lurking throughout. The golf course will test your shot-making skills as well as your creativity. To complement the golf course, Hilton Head Lakes offers an equally impressive 36-acre, double-ended practice facility with target greens, bunkers, multiple practice greens, and even a par-3 short course.

Great
This course was one of our favorites on our Hilton Head trip. Great value!!! Very friendly staff! Play it if you get the chance.
Long course
Everything was very good jts just a pity we had so much Rain for 24 before we played but course held up very good Very friendly staff
Hidden gem. Well worth a visit
I've vacationed in HH several times, but somehow I've never found this course before....but it's a beauty.
Not being on the expensive real estate of HHI itself means that there's plenty of space, esp. on the back 9.
Some relatively long par 4's that were a challenge to reach in 2. Fairways were in good condition, and the greens were hard, fast and true.
The tee boxes need some TLC, there were several that were just dirt/sand.
Disappointed that the bar/restaurant closed at 4pm-ish, so we couldn't enjoy a beer on the terrace overlooking the 18th green when we finished our round.
But overall, a nice layout. good value for money, very friendly staff. It's a nice course...we'll be back for sure
Hidden gem
What a nice find, great layout and most of the holes are off in the woods and swamp.
You feel like you're the only one playing.
Definitely come back.
Pleasantly Surprised
After hearing some discouraging comments on course conditions from some locals I considered cancelling. Very glad that I did not! Conditions were quite good and we had a very enjoyable day.
Play it!
Played here twice last week, highly recommend the course. Great staff and for the midfle of Feb. the course is in great condition. The greens were beautiful, absolutely no poa that they have had the last couple of years. This is the only course that I play multiple times during our 8 weeks out here. Definitely my favorite course.
Getting better
The greens are improved and rolling well.
The next step is the driving range and tee boxes need work. The driving range had very little grass to hit from. Several tee boxes have very little grass as well.
Hope the crew keeps the good work up.
Good condition
Good condition. Greens fast and clean. HHL is all about drainage. Low spots in fairways a bit mushy still although windy and no rain x4 days.

Surprised
We went of Island to play! Wasn’t expecting much!
I was wrong! The difference of 2 -9’s. Front nine house and back 9 preserve. Greens were good and fairways good!

GREENS PERFECT! Course in fantastic shape!
The last time we played HH Lakes was March 4, 2023, and the greens were covered with Poa annua and were basically un-puttable. But the greens are now PERFECT! Also, the tee boxes were great, with normal grass on them, and the fairways were clean and well-mowed. Good raked sand in the bunkers. This course has a beautiful layout, with a nice Adirondack feel to it, with all the beautiful pine trees, water, and beauty. The staff was very friendly and professional. We couldn't have been happier with the condition of the course and staff.
