Teal Bend Golf Club
About
Teal Bend Golf Club runs alongside the Sacramento River, enjoying a lush landscape covered in natural wetlands. One of the characteristics the course is known for is its stunning scenery, which works against the challenging layout by being almost too distracting. All of your attention will have to be focused on successfully maneuvering past the mature trees and natural rough areas that sit along the edges of the undulating greens and narrow, winding fairways. Long hitters will enjoy this golf course, which stretches to 7,000 yards from the back tees. There are also some interesting risk/reward holes that will appeal to both low and high handicappers, which is why it is one of Sacramento's most popular public courses. The well maintained driving range is also a popular feature at Teal Bend Golf Club.

Winter games
It was a great day for the winter, and the coarse was great for the time of year. A lot of fun.
A quality golf experience. Excellent greens.”
One of the best places open to play even when other courses are too wet.Teal really drains well.bunkers have new sand. The gale-force winds dropped lots of tree shut staff has done great job clearing the debris. Also has outstanding practice areas.
Teal Bend is good option year around; great winter option
Played about a week after significant rains that would’ve brought many courses to their knees but it plays as if it’s summertime with normal roll, no mud, etc. Staff is very friendly and they have a good practice facilities and course is interesting and fair. You can score well if you stay in the fairway; if not it will penalize you. Greens rolled well. Highly recommend especially during winter.
Good greens, not so good condition
Staff was friendly when we checked in. The range is nice and actually has grass to hit from. Course is fairly wide open but the conditions weren’t good. A lot of brown patches in the fairways and quite a few hard-ground areas. Rough areas slope downhill and into bushes, shrubs and leave piles. The discounted price matched the course conditions. I would have been upset if I had paid the regular price and got these conditions.
Decent Winter Condition
Teal Bend, just like every other Sacramento area golf course had many tree tranches fallen down all over the course due to last weeks (1-27-2021) windy storm with gust winds of 50+ mph. Because Teal Bend has so many trees off the fairways, the course received a lot of fallen tree tranches. The fairways are decent for winter. Despite the brown bermuda grass, at least there is turf on the fairways and NOT just mud. The greens are in very nice shape for winter conditions. However, golfers can do a better job fixing their ball marks. I fixed about a half dozen on every single green. Overall it was a wonderful day. Played in a foursome, with a foursome in front of us and still played in 4 hours even.
Good course
I like this course, it’s not super easy but it’s not horribly hard so it’s good for all skill levels. The course overall is maintained decently. You can at least see even in winter they attempt to define the fairway. Overall it’s a $35-$40 course. Wouldn’t pay $50-$60 as it doesn’t offer the same views or course layouts as others. But it’s a good course and the chipping area abs driving range are much bigger and nicer than a lot of other courses.
fearsome foursome
another fantastic foursome. great players and lots of fun.
Great course and great wildlife
Greens are amazing. Just added new sand in bunkers. Play after 10:30 to avoid the fog
Fast Greens in January 2021
Fairways were not green but they were surprisingly dry compared to other city courses in Sacramento. The greens were in very good shape and very FAST.
Course was in great condition
Pace of play was good. Course was looking real good for this time of year. Bunker sand was great.
Don’t waste your money
For the price of this course I expected way more. One of the more expensive courses in the Sac area and so far the worst course I played and I’ve played several. I did play in winter, but we haven’t had that much rain and the condition of the course was sub par. The greens also had several pot marks throughout. Basically the grass on this course is not there. It is cut real short trying to make it look good they need to let it grow a little. It’s so short it’s dead or dormant and yellow. Most shots are like hitting off hard pan. The layout of this course is also sub par as it is totally flat and has very little water and challenges for a good golfer. Overall the layout is boring. Also being so close to the river I would think you would try to incorporate into the design a little bit the only time you see it is driving in or out of the course. Don’t play this course, there are way better courses in the Sacramento region for half the price.
