Teal Bend Golf Club
About
Teal Bend Golf Club runs alongside the Sacramento River, enjoying a lush landscape covered in natural wetlands. One of the characteristics the course is known for is its stunning scenery, which works against the challenging layout by being almost too distracting. All of your attention will have to be focused on successfully maneuvering past the mature trees and natural rough areas that sit along the edges of the undulating greens and narrow, winding fairways. Long hitters will enjoy this golf course, which stretches to 7,000 yards from the back tees. There are also some interesting risk/reward holes that will appeal to both low and high handicappers, which is why it is one of Sacramento's most popular public courses. The well maintained driving range is also a popular feature at Teal Bend Golf Club.

Unprofessional Staff, unkempt back 9, not worth the money for morning mid day tee
I changed my plans from going to Auburn to celebrate my 30th today, to golfing at Teal Bend because of how many 5 star reviews I saw. Booked the 8:20am and arrived at 8:14am to pay for my tee. The gentleman behind the counter told me that I was late and the 8:20 group was already on the tee. I asked if we could play, and he paused but eventually asked us how we were going to pay. Paid the $51 and was on the tee by 8:19am. Practice swing was at 8:20am. Normally, I don't care about someone having a bad day working the register, but it was one of those situations where I didn't need his attitude considering I wasn't late.
The course is definitely unique as it has that swampy/marshes feel to it on the back 9. Either way, half the holes on the back nine aren't even remotely unkempt. The pace of play is a congested because despite them booking 10 minutes apart, they're booking 4 sums. The group in front of us was pushing the group ahead of them after having let them play through to "alleviate a jam".
I'm not going back there again.
Course was In Great Shape
It has been over a year since I played Teal Bend. The course was in great shape. The driving range was a bit beat up, though I was happy to see that it did not translate onto the course. Fairways and greens were well taken care of; they even have a basket of divot repair tools at the 1st green as a reminder to repair your divots.
Everything you've heard is true
What a pleasant surprise. As noted by others, this course has a great layout. The course sits between Sacramento Airport and the Sacramento river.
Plane traffic is directed away from the course, so is not a noise concern. The holes are all separated from each other by trees. With 10 minute tee intervals, you hardly ever see other golfers.
The fairways are extremely wide, giving plenty of room for errant drives. Greens run true.
All in all, a great experience. Worth a replay next time I am in Sacramento
Love the Surroundings
Great atmosphere for a lovely day of golf. Lots of shade trees for a hot summer round... Has some challenging holes, but also some fun and easy ones.
Excellent layout and greens; welll maintained; challenging
Enjoyed a round of golf at Teal Bend. Excellent layout and greens are in excellent condition. It's a well maintained and challenging course. I love the wooded setting. The trees have matured. I played Teal Bend over 15 years ago, so it was like playing this course for the first time. The mature trees have made this course so picturesque and beautiful. I played well too, so it was a great experience.
Great day of golf
First time at Teal Bend but I will be back. The course was in very good condition, the layout of the course is excellent, and the staff made for a good get-away day.
Teak bend
Ice wide open course. If course still lost golf balls. Out of bounds covered in berry bushes. Got free snacks
Fun course
Fun course to play! Reasonably challenging and pace of play was good, even with tournament playing behind us.
Facilities were fair due to Corona virus.
Great course
First time, great course, look forward to playing again.
Mehhh
I play Teal about 3 times per year (Spring, Summer, Fall) and have been for a number of years. Most recent round the course was probably worse condition I've seen. It was pretty disappointing given the cost. Hope they address this as it's always been a good track and pace of play has always been pretty good.
