Teal Bend Golf Club
About
Teal Bend Golf Club runs alongside the Sacramento River, enjoying a lush landscape covered in natural wetlands. One of the characteristics the course is known for is its stunning scenery, which works against the challenging layout by being almost too distracting. All of your attention will have to be focused on successfully maneuvering past the mature trees and natural rough areas that sit along the edges of the undulating greens and narrow, winding fairways. Long hitters will enjoy this golf course, which stretches to 7,000 yards from the back tees. There are also some interesting risk/reward holes that will appeal to both low and high handicappers, which is why it is one of Sacramento's most popular public courses. The well maintained driving range is also a popular feature at Teal Bend Golf Club.

Teal Bend
Teal Bend was in good shape. Greens quick, but fair. Well maintained.
Value
Course was in great shape, greens was good but fast even though pace of play was slow. Overall can’t complain cause cause great value for your money. I recommend this course.
Slow play, too crowded
Played on weekend and with teetimes every 10 mins the course was so crowded waited at each tee for 20 mins on average. Course management gets one star.
Back to nature
Every hole is tree-lined with willows, but they aren’t hindering your play. Lots of wildlife (Turkeys, squirrels, egrets, heron, etc). This is a very pretty course with good fairways and greens, a great combination. Choose the tee boxes that suit your game. I guarantee you will enjoy playing here.
Fun
I really enjoyed this course. The greens were pretty fast, which was neat as most courses are medium to slow. The layout was nice and friendly with minor challenges. I will definitely go back!!!
Teal has feel .....
Friendly and always a great course, no houses, always a challenge.
Aerated
Nowhere did it say that the greens were punched. Would have played somewhere else.
Super awesome condition!!
Was an awesome round and course and greens are in great shape.. hard to read subtle breaks.
not worth the money
Bermuda fairways so there wasn't any grass. Greens were rock hard, very thin & it was very hard to hold any shot into a green. Don't think any golfer there knew how to fix a ball mark. Greens were not in good shape.
Not worth how much I had to pay.
Slow Play, unfair mini-golf level greens
What a waste of time and besides the greens, the course wasn't difficult. The greens were hard and stupid fast with extreme undulations. Simply unplayable for the most part. Slow play and no marshalls despite claims of strict policing of pace of play. I won't be returning to Teal Bend.
Poor Mans Poppy Hills
Just like Poppy Hills, all the rough is gone. dont hit a faced iron into the green, it will roll off the back or into a trap. dont slice a drive, it will roll into the woods or bushes or streams. you will lose a lot of balls unless your game is super tight. just like all the lies, super tight lies, every shot. you better work on your chips and wedge play, no cushion grass to help you, all tight lies. and the greens are super fast and hard. like the old roddy ranch in the summer. will return and enjoy tv golf.
Got sand
Only complaint, could use more sand in the bunkers. Fairways and greens are beautiful.
Country golf
Countryside setting that offers golf only. No homes encroaching, and the Sacramento river nearby. Course is always in good shape, and unlike other Sacramento area courses the grounds superintendent have devised a way to get rid of the Canadian geese. A real escape.
Birthday foursome
We had a great time at Teal Bend! We had a Birthday boy that played with us and his round was comped!!! Everyone there was very nice and the course has a great layout! Greens were very fast and challenging!!! Will play there again for sure!!!
Outstanding Tournament setup
Jon Anderson, Teal Bend Tournament Director, created the perfect balance for tournament play. Wonderful Golf, organization and placed the value of the customer first in every area. Wonderful memories.
Don’t waste your time
First of all, the greens were in great condition: quick and big breaks. It goes down hill from here...Pin placements were ridiculous: tucked in corners as close to the edges as legally possible . It felt like a Sunday at a major tournament!!! Now for the worst: Several of the fairways had 40 ft wide sections along the sides that were obviously dug out, but just left as dirt! Are you kidding me? It felt like the course was under construction! Oh, did I mention the 5 HOUR ROUND! Never again, even if the round was free!!!
