Teal Bend Golf Club
About
Teal Bend Golf Club runs alongside the Sacramento River, enjoying a lush landscape covered in natural wetlands. One of the characteristics the course is known for is its stunning scenery, which works against the challenging layout by being almost too distracting. All of your attention will have to be focused on successfully maneuvering past the mature trees and natural rough areas that sit along the edges of the undulating greens and narrow, winding fairways. Long hitters will enjoy this golf course, which stretches to 7,000 yards from the back tees. There are also some interesting risk/reward holes that will appeal to both low and high handicappers, which is why it is one of Sacramento's most popular public courses. The well maintained driving range is also a popular feature at Teal Bend Golf Club.

Great course, dont walk
Never played at Teal Bend but saw a $18 Hot Deal and couldn't pass it up. Great course. Some of the tee boxes are pretty far away so I wouldn't recommend walking. I don't hit very far but was still able to get a couple pars and I played from the white tee box. Not bad for the first time playing the course. The pair we played with were pretty slow so it took us a while to finish, but I'm sure we could get it done in the four and a half hours it says it takes. The only negative is the restaurant. The guys tried to get a grilled cheese and the guy wouldn't do it saying it would take 10 min. I did see the sign at 9th hole and I told them to call in but they didn't see anything without meat on the menu so didn't know a grilled cheese was offered. The greens were in great shape, some of the fairways were patchy especially around the greens but overall in great shape. Cant wait to play again!
Nice course
The power was out at the time we played but the staff did a great job overcoming the issue
Nicest course I've played
This was my first time at Teal Bend, although I had heard good things about this course in the past. The $67 price scared me off, but we were able to find a big discount on golfnow. I see why this course normally costs as much as it does! It's in fantastic shape, unlike a few other courses I have played recently that are still recovering from all the rain we had. This course drains! Hitting off the fairway feels almost like hitting off practice mats at the range, that's how good the condition is. I will make an effort to go back and play this course again.
Beautiful course.
The course was in excellent shape. Greens were in good shape. Had a great time.
Slow play
It was a beautiful day, sunny and very little wind. After all the rain we've had lately the golf course had no standing water except for a few sand traps. The fairways were in great shape but the greens were a little beat up mostly from people not fixing divots. I don't understand it!!!
The pace of play was terrible but was mostly attributed to the fact that the course was packed. Everyone wanted to play after all the rain we had. But it was such a beautiful day that everyone took it in stride and had a great time.
Teal Bend Golf Course, Sacramento, CA
The course was in excellent, especially because of all the rain we had in Jan and Feb. It drains great. The staff was as great as the course, attentive, helpful, and very friendly. If you haven't played there, book a tee time now.
best draining course around
was raining but not flooded like most other traks. great day and greens were great. best rain day golf in nor cal.
Dry Course in Wet Weather
This course drains extremely well. While other courses in the area were closed, Teal Bend was allowing carts without restriction on the course. This course is very scenic with elevation changes, mature trees and lots of brush lurking next to fairways and greens. Most of the greens were undulating with significant slope. This course will challenge the skill of all golfers. The course is fun and easy to get to with plenty of parking. An air hose is available to clean your equipment. I wholeheartedly recommend playing this course. Just a final suggestion: more sand in the traps would be great.
Best course during our wettest winter
One of only a few courses in northern California that drains so well, we rode carts on the course just a few days after heavy rains. And it is a very good course with challenges and some easier holes. Will play it more often.
Great staff
I had booked 2 different tee times and then cancelled 1 and a few hours later rebooked another tee time they were very accommodating making it work for me. Golf Now was also very helpful by calling the course to make sure the course was on board with the changes. Thank you both
Playable Trail In Teal Bend
Played after the harsh rains, course held its own. Greens were good and fast, some front pins impossible to keep on green. Fairways were fine considering rains, course drains well. Would be among first choices to play after rains like these, Teal Bend holds true to its word as the best draining course in Sac. Wonderful Bermuda surfaces on tee boxes, fairways; greens were not bermuda but were rye or a type of seasonal bentgrass. Some holes felt like being in Palm Springs with the dormant bermuda and green grass greens. We play here once every few months, and this would be a perfect home course if I lived closer. So much good golf in Sac, but this one is the most playable after rain.
Excellent conditions
For it to be winter time previous Raines this week, did not keep this course from Being in excellent condition. The greens were rolling true and fast. The pace of play was fantastic. I have never known this course not to be in excellent condition.
