About

Holes 18
Type Public
Par 72
Length 7289 yards
Slope 137
Rating 74.5

Bring your best game to the Links at Waterchase--a long, difficult course that can be had if you get your mind right. Intimidating because of its length (7,304 yards), much of the extra yardage comes from five excruciatingly long par 5s. The key here is to manage these holes, get on the green or close in three, then do what you have to do for your pars.

If you play regularly at a local par 3 course, you might want to work in a practice round before taking on The Links, since there’s five par 3s.

Watch out for the enders on each side, which frame the scenic pond and waterfall that are sandwiched between the two greens. No. 9 is a 433-yard par 4, and requires a solid drive on the left side. Pay attention to the pin placement, as there is water behind the green. No. 18 goes 570 yards from the tips, and offers target golf at its best. You’ll need to lay up at least 120 yards from the hole, and keep the approach below the pin to assure yourself of an uphill putt.

Getting there : Located on the east side of Fort Worth at I-30 and Eastchase Pkwy. Take the Eastchase exit and drive north to John T. White Rd. Turn right and drive a short distance, then take the first right on Randoll Mill Rd. Turn left on Creek Run Rd.

WaterChase

Course was in outstanding condition. First time playing there. A lot of water so be prepared to hit some shots. I made the mistake of playing from the whites and the course was really short. I’ll move back in the future.

Waterchase in great condition

Played on Friday 5/27 and the fairways and greens were pretty much immaculate. Easily some of the best tee boxes, fairways I’ve played recently. Greens are pretty good too given the heat wave and ridiculous dry and windy conditions for most of April and May. Zero complaints - other than my actual golf game.

Good conditions

I like that you won't see a house anywhere near the course, just one set of apartments on one hole. Course was in good condition. Greens were a little crusty, but very true. Bermuda grass has finally come in with the heat in May. Bunkers were good, but WHY are we still not putting rakes out? It takes forever to try to fix a bunker after playing out of it. The layout here is pretty challenging, especially in a north wind, and they had the tees all moved up a little. Always a good course to test your game and today I failed.

Review from 5/22/2022

This was my first time playing this course and I enjoyed the layout very much. It is challenging and unique. The pace of play is a bit on the slow side but nothing that really inhibited me from having a good time. This is good and should not be rushed through. I’m just trying to enjoy my Sunday on the course. I do feel however that the tee times are stacked way too close together for a course with this type of layout. Also the condition was not really great and on a few holes you struggled just to stick a tee in the ground. Overall not bad and I’d play it again

Fairways in great shape

Played 18 today, fairways were in great shape, greens were okay to good. Staff was great. I had forgotten what a nice course this is. If they could only get rid of the biting flies it would have been awesome.

Always a fun track to play

Fairways still growing in but greens were fast and firm. Wind usually kicks up on back nine making it challenging. Staff was kind enough to loan my son a litter as he forgot his. Thank you!!

Great Course, Great Staff

Played in absolutely perfect weather in early April 2022. This was only the 2nd time I had played this little gem and it has quickly become my favorite local course. Brought my Dad and two brother-in-laws and everyone was chatting about their favorite challenge/best shot on the 19th hole over a beer (good sign everyone loved it!). Astonishingly, we have all lived in the DFW area for over 40 years and never played this course (until this year).

Fairways are well-kept and you have to "think" about shot selection (good). Greens are well-protected by traps, but if you get on them they are just the right speed, and TRUE!

Will be coming back again and again!

Setting expectations is a good thing

Waterchase came recommended by a trusted friend. The pricing was attractive and the layout of the course interesting. We arrived to find out from the starter on the 1st tee that a practice round for NCAA college women's teams was occuring just ahead of us with a 5+hour pace expected based on there 2.5+ pace at the turn. It was a bit of a march. When I asked beforehand when signing in if everything was running on time, I was told "Yes". No cart bev service. Players jumping in slots of ahead of us on back nine, even a parking lot fight. Tee boxes are a mess as are some fairways. Rustic bunkers/no rakes. Greens are the only real gem here.

Great Course

Always great to play here even when the fairways are dormant, even better when spring comes around. One of the best places I have played. Keep up the great work.
