About
The Trails of Frisco golf course is one of Jeff Brauer’s most unique designs -- primarily because it doesn’t fit the mold of his other courses. Brauer, who’s known for his open, straight-forward courses, designed this one to tip out to a par 71, 6,900 yards, loaded it with hidden creeks, scenic wetlands, extensive bunkering, and massive greens. In fact, first-timers will be confused here. They’ll face intimidating views off the tee that leave doubt as to the problems that loom ahead, and it is definitely possible to lose all of your balls off the tee if you’re struggling.
The golf course is just flat-out challenging, especially on the front nine. No. 1 opens up with a creek on the left that cuts in front of the green and generally makes its presence known on every shot. The play here is to stay right and stay away from its subtle presence on the left side. The creek comes into play on Nos. 2, 4, 5, and even No. 9, where it chutes from the fairway in front of the green and surrounds the green of this challenging par 4.
All told, water and waste areas are in play on 16 of 18 holes (including every par 3), and the creeks are enhanced by visible lakes and ponds on the back side, even though it is considered a bit easier than the front.

Nice course..... need to go back
They had just punched the greens. Putting was bouncy.
Would like to go back and play after the greens are back in good shape.
Great Course Minus Pace of Play
This is the first time playing this course and I thought it was great. The course layout is fantastic and the fairways and greens where in great condition. The bunkers were unplayable but that wasn’t a big deal. We wish the marshal was more proactive to ensure pace of play was improved. I will certainly play this course again.
Great value/Good Condition.
Good condition, greens were in fantastic shape and I would recommend this course. Great layout and requires you to hit all the clubs in your bag. Only annoying part of my round was paying $4 for a bottle of Dr Pepper, seems a little extreme.
Better than reviews
Not easy but greens are excellent. Requires accuracy off tee. Bunkers not playable and no rakes out so they are telling us to drop out of bunkers. W/ sand this would be a very nice public track. Greens make it a good experience
It was once much better….
I was surprised to arrive at the course today and see what a sad state of condition it is in. The staff was great. The carts were not conditioned well, a lot of bare spots on the fairways and many of the course landmarks like the bridges were dilapidated. It’s sad to see the course deteriorate.
Course was in great shape. Bunkers are pretty much dirt vs sand. So we did not play the bunkers today. Boy was it hot with all the trees.

The course was in really good shape compared to some others I have played recently. They did a nice job of protecting the greens during the harsh weather over the winter. Looking forward to playing it again.
Great but hot
Course was in great shape. Tee boxes a little hard but it is July. Slow play in front so took quite a while. Overall good time.
NOTHING WRONG THAT AN ACTIVE MARSHALL WOULDN'T FIX
PACE OF PLAY WAS ATROCIOUS. GROUP OF THREE IN FRONT OF US WERE NOVICE GOLFERS, WITH NO CLUE AS TO COURSE ETIQUETTE. THERE WERE AT LEAST FIVE HOLES OPEN IN FRONT OF THEM WHEN THEY REACHED THE 18TH HOLE.
AN ACTIVE MARSHALL ON THE COURSE WOULD BE VERY USEFUL.
The course was in overall good shape. The greens were fast going downhill and very slow against the grain or uphill. This is a challenging course that forces you to play in the fairways. If you miss big to the right or left you will lose lots of balls! Haha very hot out there today and the beverage cart was done making the rounds at 5:00 which was not good. Nice outing overall but not sure I will be back really soon until I can hit the fairways more!
