About
Frisco Lakes Golf Club is a part of the Del Webb Frisco Lakes Community, just north of Dallas. The front nine of the course is interwoven with the community itself while the back nine sprawls across open countryside. The five sets of tees range from just over 5,000 yards to just over 7,000 yards, allowing the golf course to be played as a leisurely round or a formidable test. The challenging, well maintained greens are the course's most memorable feature. Golfers should be prepared for a back-to-back peninsula green and island green on the seventh and eighth holes. The 14th is another tough water hole that runs alongside Lake Lewisville. Water is not the only hazard at Frisco Lakes Golf Club though, there are also plenty of strategically placed bunkers throughout.

Wet Review
I had a good experience here. I play once or twice a week and I try to play someplace new at least once a month. This course was open after a heavy rain the night before so it was cart path only but the course drained nicely. Maybe three holes had standing water. Pace of play was good. Layout is very nice and the greens where in great shape. A little pricey for me at $60 and that was a deal on Golf Now that I treated myself to on Fathers Day. First time playing course and I would recommend playing it.

Wonderful Course
Great overall course, play here very often. Greens are finally coming back around and the fairways are terrific.

Greens were bad
They punched the greens about a week ago and they were still pretty bad. Very very sandy.

Bad greens but getting better
They are trying to improve the greens which were apparently infested with some sort of worms this Spring. They have punched, dressed and blown the greens and while still bumpy, at least they are addressing them.

The course owner and managment is not friendly to players or residents as it appears

Enjoyed the round, played in four hours on Friday afternoon. Disappointed in the shape of the greens, they are in pretty bad shape and very slow.

The greens are in horrendous shape. For $25 a round, sure, but way overpriced for the shape the course is in.

Sand traps and green are not up to the standard conditions as they were in the last years. Owner and General Manger have no experience working people and the is attitude received from resident golfer is Management don't want us to play THIER course. This course has gone downhill in the last two years.

Very good condition other than the greens
The tee boxes and fairways on both the front and back were in very good condition. The greens on the front were average, but the greens on the back were sandy - very little grass over much of the surface.

Terrible Greens
This course should be sold to someone who knows about golf and golfers. They have turned over all of the staff for greens, waitstaff, kitchen and front desk - all except the club manager and he should have been the first to go. The greens were allowed to turn to mush; the fairways are OK and getting better, the sand traps were redone but remain unplayable. The club cannot even afford to buy olives for the bar. They are chasing away their prime source of revenue, the residents as they seem not to care about them at all.

My son plays for a local High School team that practices at this course....nice folks and I like the course. There have been a lot of complaints about the greens and sure, players should be told before they pay that they've been aerated recently. You can't forget that we've had a ton of rain lately that is effecting all the local courses. Give em a chance....

Sad Sad Sad!!!!
Not sure where to begin with this one, but ever since the current owner took over a few years ago, the course has been in a steady decline. The greens are basically unplayable. Charging full price for this course in its current condition is highway robbery! I actually feel bad for the employees that have listen to angry customers that complain about the course conditions. What they need to do is follow the path of Stevens Park, The Tribute, Tour 18, and close the course down for a month or two, rip out, rebuild, and seed the greens, let the fairways grow in and thicken, and perform non stop maintenance during the closure. I realize they are about to finish a bunker restoration, but after speaking to employees there, it's evident that they do not even groom the bunkers on a regular basis. I hear they are having a hard time retaining staff. Do that and the course would be worthy again of the price paid. Until they commit to raising the level of this course back to its original status, I'll do what most of my friends are doing, playing elsewhere, on better courses, for less money.

Place needs new ownership BAD
Frisco Lakes is privately owned by an individual, he refuses to make this a premier public course. The bunkers and greens are a joke, cart paths are crumbling. Greens will need replacing in a couple years, this owner does not want to do it. I believe the course is for sale at an outrageous price.
Hopefully a management company will take the course management over. For the green fees they charge, this should be a GREAT course.
On the good side, the course is set up for all types of golfers, good and bad, Tees are placed for talent level. Great view from the patio deck. Great place to enjoy a beverage after your round.
My buddies and I will be following Frisco Lakes and hope for a re-development in ownership and management

Worst Greens in DFW
This course should not be charging customers $70 when their greens are in the shape they are. The greens keeper even placed the holes in the worst section of each green. There was nobody in the pro shop to speak to after our round. I will not be back to this course.

Terrible Greens
This is one of the more expensive public courses in the area. With these rates one expects better than average conditions. The greens are in terrible shape and very disappointing. No warring if these conditions. Lesson learned, ask before making a tee time.

No waiting. Course soggy in a few spots but good condition for all the rain.
