Frisco Lakes Golf Club

I really love this course. I was very very cold so the small fee for the hand warmers the pro suggested was money well spent. The course can bite you in the bogey if you don’t stay between the lines but also will reward good shots. It was tough playing in the cold weather but no regrets. The cold never bothered me anyway.

Although the weather was bad had an enjoyable experience. Can't wait to go back when the weather is good

Really cold weather, but the course was mostly in great shape. Some bunkers and fairways muddy and under repair. Watch out for coyotes on 15 & 16 - saw 4 of them today.

Excellent day of golf, course in good conditions beside the heavy rain the day before, really friendly staff, perfect pace, round in 3:30 hrs.

This is normally one of dfws premier courses in my opinion but not now. Grass is planted too sparsely in fairways which is causing severe washout of fairways. Rains recently yes, but course should have been closed today, awful conditions with little or no turf and mud instead. After todays play much more damage has occurred to course. On top of todays poor performance, their bunker maintenance has been on going for far too long, the staff wasnt very friendly and u have to wait for concessions which opens after course does and no beverage cart. Wont be playing here again til at least next summer and if quality and price don’t improve not then either.

This is the best course and the best staff of any course in the area.

Frisco Lakes is an excellent layout with tees for golfers of all abilities. Since there were showers today, the course was pretty empty which allowed for a round in under 2 hours. Fairways are overseeded and greens are always in good shape. Frisco Lakes is an excellent choice.

We visit from UK twice a year to see our son and his family. We always try to play the Lakes course. This time we played it 3 times. Greens were good and the layout is challenging without being too difficult. On all 3 games we got round in just under 4 hours. We will play again when we come back in the Spring.

The course in general is in very good shape! Somehow we did tend to lose 3-4 balls when two or more of us watch the ball hit the ground, but still couldn't find them. Only comment is that the course does not appear to do any bunker maintenance (having to play out of footprints and non-raked bunkers) as we teed off within the first 30 minutes of the day.

Course was OK, but does not warrant its very high rating in Avid Golfer's "Best of Public Courses 2018." 2 or 3 holes had interesting designs; the rest were average. Tee boxes, fairways and greens were in good shape; sand traps not so. Most of the traps ranged from unraked to unmaintained to under repair (supposedly; they showed no evidence of any repair work). Several ball washers were inoperable; most were missing towels. Beverage cart service was good. Course starter and marshal were friendly. Overall, however, lots of small signs added up to a red flag warning of course's long term prospects. Holiday weekend green fee of $50 on GolfNow was reasonable. Rack rate of $77 would have been overpriced. For someone driving from Dallas, there are other courses nearby worth the extra price for the distance being driven.
