Frisco Lakes Golf Club
About
Frisco Lakes Golf Club is a part of the Del Webb Frisco Lakes Community, just north of Dallas. The front nine of the course is interwoven with the community itself while the back nine sprawls across open countryside. The five sets of tees range from just over 5,000 yards to just over 7,000 yards, allowing the golf course to be played as a leisurely round or a formidable test. The challenging, well maintained greens are the course's most memorable feature. Golfers should be prepared for a back-to-back peninsula green and island green on the seventh and eighth holes. The 14th is another tough water hole that runs alongside Lake Lewisville. Water is not the only hazard at Frisco Lakes Golf Club though, there are also plenty of strategically placed bunkers throughout.

I normally enjoy playing this course, but yesterday was an all time low. 3 hours and 10 minutes on the front 9 is totally unacceptable. And no marshal to move things along until the 9th hole. we had 3 foursomes waiting to hi on #7. May be a while before I return. Too many other choices of nice courses in the area for this kind of pace.
Make it more clear
Please put in course selections that the course was just aerated.....hate showing up to that!
Sanded Aerated Greens should be noted prior to Hot Deal!
I love this course but I don't think it was a fair deal with Hot Deals if they don't tell you that the greens have recently been aerated and sanded. It dampens the game and makes putting a slippery or not slope. I don't blame the course unless they didn't inform Golf Now, which I plan on contacting and telling them about the issues. Wait a couple of weeks and the course will be ready again.
Greens were in better shape since longer since airriation. overall course course was good shape. water containers had cold water. cart girls made both 9's while playing.
Great Place for a round of golf except
The pace of play was draining, not to say the heat added to it but the groups in front of us would not go and the marshal was more concerned that we missed a cone then he was about pace of play. I don't understand the reason behind a marshal that doesn't speed up play when you always see him and you are waiting and there is no group in front of the other one they are just slow. This is an issue at every course you go to the marshal has no power.
Great course - pace may/may not be an issue though
Frisco Lakes is a bit deceptive – some of the yard markers are actually shorter than what they are listed at. Overall, a pretty fun course that is maintained well for the most part. I wish the carts had GPS but did like the club cleaning kit attached at least. Fairways roll smooth and the holes vary quite a bit – especially the front 9 to the back 9. I’ve played this course twice – once on a Saturday afternoon as part of a threesome with a couple of buddies in the Memorial Day weekend heat, and the other on a Friday morning/early afternoon as part of a twosome.
My main knock on this course - I was a bit perturbed with the lack of help from the marshall on my 2nd go around of this course. We started off with nobody in sight in front of us on the 1st hole, and nobody rushing up behind us as we walked off of the 1st green. We eventually caught up to a foursome in front of us on the 3rd hole (us waiting on the tee box and them standing on the fairway preparing for their 2nd shot). It wasn’t that terrible as they played well enough to keep pace – it was actually a threesome in front of them that was slowing us down. We were all standing on the 5th hole, par 3 tee box together waiting on said threesome – with no other group in sight in front of them. The marshall, who was waiting on the tee box with the group in front of us, apparently never said much or waved the threesome to keep things moving along. This pace kept up the entire rest of the way. Both the group in front of us and asked the marshall at various points on the course if they could get said threesome to pick up the pace – never did. For a Friday morning, starting at 10:20, it took us as a twosome to play almost a 5 hour round. A few weeks before that when I played in a threesome on a Saturday, we breezed through (it was pretty humid that weekend so not a lot of warriors out there that day) in just about 4 hours.
Besides that dreadful experience, the course is definitely a better value play than The Tribute if you’re looking for a quality course north of the Metroplex. I would return but hope that type of pace was just an outlier and not the norm.
Very nice
This course is awesome because it has a vast variety of different views. It passes through neighborhoods; over creeks and has views of the lake. The fairways were soft and had plenty of landing areas that provided bonus rolls. The greens were bumpy probably due to recent punching and sanding. Staff was friendly. Pace was good and layout afforded driver on most holes. This is a beautiful course but without GOLFNOW it’s expensive.
Poor pace of play
Was started early by marshal on back 9 as was told he had already started 1 of the players that was to have been in my group an could catchup to him. Made the turn an while at 1st tee box was halted informing that there was league players needed to go ahead and tee off.
Informed I should go back to clubhouse and give the league time to finish.
Don’t believe pace of play should be halted due to course haveing league play.
No outside play should have been allowed if the course knew they had league play .
Pace of play should be in force for both players and course.
Really nice playable coursde
Very good course layout not tricked up. The course is all in front of you with plenty of challenges. They are working on their sand traps so a couple of them were in transition. Good place to play if you live in North Dalas
Not the best
Not the best experience this go around. Played this course a bunch and its one of my favorites, but this time was kind of a bust. The price has been inching higher and higher on golfnow and its just become too high or so I thought. The two gentlemen in my group reserved the same time on golfnow for half what I paid golfnow and the course conditions and marshalls made a bad thing even worse.
Greens were aerated more than three weeks ago but were still bumpy and very sandy. Marshals were around but never bothered to enforce pace of play resulting in a five hour round which is just plain ridiculous. Between worsening restrictions and pricing on golfnow and worsening course conditions, looks like Ill be using teeoff.com for tee times as they dont charge fees. Hot deals are so restrictive theyre a joke and with bad experience at Frisco Lakes, looks like Ill be using a different booking service and a different golf course.
Hot, Thirsty and Punched.
This is one of my favorite courses in DFW. But I n general it seems like the management has dropped the ball lately. There was no notice of the greens being punched (I had just played a week earlier), the bev. cart was nowhere to be found for much of the round. When she finally made here way around to us she somehow had no Gatorade. Maybe not a big deal, but when it’s 100°+ they should have it. To top it all off, the last three water jugs were empty-when it’s 100° that is simply unacceptable.
Fairways were fine. they were working on the sand traps. Most were "Ground under repair". there was a notice on the Pro Shop door.
wish they would have told us the greens were airated a couple of weeks ago. would have found some place else to play. they were extremely bumpy!
