Wildhawk Golf Club
About
WildHawk Golf Club is a challenging championship layout that is one of Sacramento's most popular public courses. The verdant landscape is dotted with scenic water features, including a cascading waterfall. Water is naturally a prominent presence but the unique shape and positioning of the bunkers also makes the course stand out from other public tracks. The golf course boasts some of the area's best greens as well. The layout has a diverse mix of challenging holes and player friendly elements such as the wide-open fairways on the longer par 4s and par 5s, which makes the golf course accommodating for a range of skill levels. It still requires a fair amount of accuracy though since it can get tight in some spots. WildHawk Golf Club can also be more difficult depending on the wind

Windy day at Wildhawk
Started on the 10th tee and there seemed to be a back-up.
We were a twosome behind 3 foursomes. However, pace of play was okay at just over 4 hrs. Starter was friendly, greens were fast, fairways in good shape and rough was just enough to keep ball from running out into hsazards... The tee boxes were a little beat up, but they were working on them. Oh yeah, we had a brand new golf cart!
Great layout
It is my first time playing this course I love the layout I loved everything about this course it was a really great place to play for the price the tee boxes could use a little work they are a little uneven and it is a little muddy in places but other than that this is a great course to play I would recommend it for anybody and I will be coming back
Challenging Par 3s
Fairways and rough had short grass. From gold tee it's 223-yds on Par 3! Few layup tee shots.
Thec tee boxes are in horrible shape and a lot of muddy areas around the course even tho it hasn’t rained here in a month. The greens were the only good thing about the course
Great course, slow play
This was my first time playing wild hawk, the course is in great condition, fairways are green and play great with a pristine putting surface. Friendly course where some not so great swings won’t kill you. My only complaint is the very slow pace of play, multiple holes we we’re waiting for multiple groups to tee off. The bunkers need work but that’s pretty standard for Northern California courses in February. I will definitely be back to play again.
Frustrating
Extremely slow pace of play today, not sure why. But that doesn’t explain poor condition of the course. Tee boxes have never been great but some have more bare dirt than grass. Lots of muddy areas and standing water when the area hasn’t had rain in weeks, do the groundskeepers know what they’re doing?? Not sure what’s going on but I’m avoiding for awhile.
Slow Ride
After the heavy rains during the month of December, Wildhawk continues to dry out although a few areas are still wet or show signs of prior pooling. Overall, the conditions are quite good especially for winter; fairways are fairly lush and the greens are rolling nicely. The only complaints are pace of play and I'm hoping they can soon refresh the sand in their bunkers. We waited multiple minutes on each tea box and on shots into greens for an overall round of 5 hours. That being said, Wildhawk is one of my favorite local courses and I definitely plan to return.
Tee Boxes
Fun course pretty good condition for winter. There was some debris on a few of the greens due to previous days winds. My primary concern was that all of the blue tee boxes were not level and in terrible condition they need serious work! Also the greens were nice for the most part kinda of fast as well but for some reason nobody seems to fix their ball marks (idiots). They also have several new golf carts with USB ports on them to charge your gadgets, very nice! I will reccomend Wild Hawk to friends and will play this course again!
Great course but frost delay
I love this course but the day I showed up at 7.08am for my tee time I was told there was a frost delay until 8.30. Golf now took my booking fee and never received it back.
Weird thing is it wasn’t frosty and many others were surprised by this. I called Mather golf course just 10 minutes away and they were open and I played there. Not sure why wildhawk chose to delay when it wasn’t frosty
The course is in excellent condition but there aren’t enough signs in some areas that leads to the Tee Box.
Other than there aren’t enough signs the course and staff are excellent.
Great price and conditions
This was my first time playing would hawk and it did not disappoint, the course was in great shape and we were the first group out at 7:16am, finished our round in 4hours playing at a nice easy pace, I would definitely come back
Great place
First time playing but won’t be the last.
Revenge on hole 11–that is a tough hole that fools you with it’s yardage.
Great greens
Greens were in great shape. Some tee boxes were in bad shape
