About
WildHawk Golf Club is a challenging championship layout that is one of Sacramento's most popular public courses. The verdant landscape is dotted with scenic water features, including a cascading waterfall. Water is naturally a prominent presence but the unique shape and positioning of the bunkers also makes the course stand out from other public tracks. The golf course boasts some of the area's best greens as well. The layout has a diverse mix of challenging holes and player friendly elements such as the wide-open fairways on the longer par 4s and par 5s, which makes the golf course accommodating for a range of skill levels. It still requires a fair amount of accuracy though since it can get tight in some spots. WildHawk Golf Club can also be more difficult depending on the wind

Spur of the moment
Played a few months back for the 1st round of golf in 6 years, I took a long long break but I used to play here once a month. The course was just like I remembered always in decent shape and a great course to get your confidence back but I did notice how much larger the trees were. My only complaint was pace of play, just under 5 hours but seemed much longer. Anyway I just made another tee time for Wednesday 11/30/22 so I thought why not review it from 4 months ago and see if it's still the and hopefully pace of play a little better.
A Wlk inthe Park
Been playing Wildhawk since it opened in 1997 and am always impressed with all aspects.
Good course with friendly staff
Wildhawk is a good relatively easy to moderate course with very friendly staff and good practice facilities. Pace of play isn't usually an issue but this day it was. The two groups in front of us were very slow. Almost a 5 hour round. Course was in good condition; greens very good fairways dry (wetter sometimes in summer from leaky irrigation?); only issue is some tee boxes are uneven or not in great shape. Can get pretty good deals sometimes but paid a little more this day.
So slow
I like this course. Fun. The bad part was how slow it was. Waited on every tee to tee off all day. No marshals to be found. I know it’s a Sunday but 4 groups on one hole 4 separate times during the round is not acceptable. I won’t be playing here on a weekend again.
Pace of play
Starter elected to let 2 some tee off before us. Turns out they were super slow beginners. Had to wait on every hole as they were looking for their ball off fairway etc. could have asked them let us pass but noticed 3 some ahead of them weren’t much faster. Just shows that just because you are a twosome doesn’t mean they can keep up pace of play. Starter should do better to recognize that or have notified marshall to do something.
Wide fairways
Course had generous fairways, with long Par 3 from tip/gold tee 6700 yds. David 9 had water hazards
Disappointed to see punched greens
I did not see any pre-warnings about the greens being punched. Its very disappointing to show up to paly a course when on the 1st green you notice they are punched. Next time, it would be nice to have some sort of warning.
The course has a nice layout with some interesting holes. The greens were recently punched and are healing well. They’ll probably be really nice in a week or so. I would play here again.
