About
WildHawk Golf Club is a challenging championship layout that is one of Sacramento's most popular public courses. The verdant landscape is dotted with scenic water features, including a cascading waterfall. Water is naturally a prominent presence but the unique shape and positioning of the bunkers also makes the course stand out from other public tracks. The golf course boasts some of the area's best greens as well. The layout has a diverse mix of challenging holes and player friendly elements such as the wide-open fairways on the longer par 4s and par 5s, which makes the golf course accommodating for a range of skill levels. We need some rain...
The course needs some watering in the fairways. The course used to have very nice grass to hit off of. The tee boxes are pretty clumpy and it's hard to find a spot to get a good stance to hit the ball. I do love this course, just disappointed in the condition. Not entirely their fault.
The greens are in good shape. Thanks for your efforts in keeping them in good shape.
Good Muni
The course isn't too difficult, a few decent risk reward holes like a drivable par 4 over water. Back tee boxes can be pretty beat up, and the course gets soupy in areas where water collects, but there usually won't be any dried out areas. It's a decent muni to play, can get slow if it gets busy on the weekends.
Surprise Surprise Surprise
Had 7:39 tee time for a foursome. Went to check in at pro shop where I was informed that our foursome is now in shotgun start and we are on 5A. Round was slow and you could tell many other groups were caught off guard with the shotgun start. Probably never book this course again online.
Very nice conditions overall
Greens were in great shape. T boxes not so much. Fairways were not bad, some areas were dry and some areas overly wet. Pace of play was pretty good
A hidden opportunity
I have played this course numerous times. The course was in pretty good shape, with the exception of the bunkers. Much needed attention is needed on bunkers and tee’s.. I suspect the hot weather has taken a toll on the course.
Good for the money
Greens roll smooth, fairways are decent. The rough was muddy and bare in some spots, but more reason to hit the fairways. Pace of play was great.

Rodney, yes, it was a 7:30 shotgun that day, there was a shotgun icon on the tee time and a notification on the booking page, sorry you missed that. 90% of the players were off the course by 12:00, a four and a half hour round, hope to see you here again.
