Heritage Ranch Golf and Country Club
About
Heritage Ranch serves up an especially challenging par 72, 6,988-yard Arthur Hills design that rolls through the oaks and pecans just outside of Fairview. And while it’s part of a gated, active-adult residential community, the course is open to the public and especially fun because it integrates well with the neighborhood. Houses line some fairways, but a fair number of holes provide that natural, rural feel that is always so welcome on a golf course.
While the course is not particularly demanding off the tees, the real challenge at Heritage Ranch comes from the mound-shaped greens. If your irons aren’t dialed in, you’ll be working hard for ups and downs.
No. 1 is a unique opener because it bends left down to a fairway and green that aren’t visible from the tee. Big drives can get close, but the recommended play is to take a long iron and draw it over the hill.
The par 5s on the front are nice holes. No. 3 doglegs right and requires a good tee shot, followed by a relatively easy second shot into a widening fairway toward the hole. The trick is nailing the short iron (almost a blind shot) into the elevated green guarded by bunkers on the front. No. 7 is longer and offers a good chance for birdie, again because of its wide-open nature.
No. 16 is the signature hole: a par 3 masterpiece that plays along a natural spring waterfall. You’ll need to nail a long iron over the valley and avoid the trees that overhang the fairway from the right.
No. 18 is a good finisher–it’s a long par 4 that doglegs left around a few large fairway bunkers, then works its way uphill to an elevated, mound-shaped green surrounded by bunkers. Ups and downs are possible here if you miss the green back left, which is easy to do when you approach with a fairway wood.
Getting there : Only 20 miles northeast of Dallas, take I-75 north to the Stacy Road exit, then turn right and drive to the dead end. The road jogs to the left, then right, and continues as Stacy Road. The entrance is 2 miles down on the left.

Nice course
Nice course. The greens were in good shape and the fairways were getting greener with the warmer weather. I’ll definitely play here again!
Great course
Love playing this course as it is well maintained and is always in good shape. The reason being it's in a secured neighborhood and is a country club. It's great that the course is open to the public so we get to play these courses without having to pay the fees of being a member. Occasionally as happened on Monday a group of members jumped on the course at #10 so when we made the turn we had 2 new groups ahead of us. All seniors, so it was very slow moving the entire back 9 having to wait at every hole. This made playing time about an hour longer than it should have. We were a 4 some playing 3 different tees and still has to wait. Other than that and the wind it was a great day. Course was in great condition. Next time just wish they would put the members off on #1 instead of #10
Great place to play
Played here after seeing very positive reviews and must say it did not disappoint. Course was still recovering somewhat from very heavy rains earlier in the month but still great place to play. Can't wait to play again this summer and see the course in summer conditions. Greens were very quick but true. Will be back.
Very nice Course for the $
I played Tierra Verde before our conference and this one after our conference.
I would choose this one again - Great finishing holes and super greens
Wet round
This really is only a half review as we were only able to play the back 9 as the front was closed due to flooding from all the rain the area has had. I enjoyed the course a lot, the greens were good and fast even as wet as it was. Can't wait to go back as I heard from a member that the front is better. Good to the grounds crew to have the course in the condition it was in due to the rains.
Great pace of play
This course has a great layout for a "newer" player to advanced. Fun elevation changes and beautiful hole views.
Heritage Ranch Golf Course
Again, this is one of the best courses in the DFW area. It’s a hidden gem that everyone should play at least once. It’s worth the drive. I highly recommend this course to all levels of players.
Great Staff!!!
My son and I played there for the first time. Everyone was very friendly and accommodating. From the proshop, the snack bar, to the starter, we had a great experience.
Course was challenging, but not unfair. Greens were in great shape considering all of the crazy weather lately.
Will definitely play there again!
Always Great!!
This is my go to course and as always it did not let me down. The wind did not make my day, but the course was in good shape!
Great greens
The greens rolled very true despite the fact that some of the course users fail to repair ball marks. Come on man! The layout is fun and challenging without being overly difficult. Nice job by the grounds crew. Nice facility with good food.
Nice Course
We loved this course. Dog legs left and right. A bit challenging, but fun. Can't wait to play in the spring and summer when it greens up. But, we'd play again in the cold.
Love this course!!
It doesn’t matter when I play this course either fall or summer. It is always in great shape!!
Great course
First time playing this course and I booked it after reading the reviews. I wasn't disappointed. The course was is great condition. The greens are very fast and the course plays long and is pretty challenging. I will play here again if i can get another hot deal on Golf now.
Great course- Always in top shape
Haven't played this course in about 5 years and I remember it being very challenging. It still was. Even in early December the course was in great shape, with some of the fastest, but true rolling greens around. You really have to hit your spots on your approaches to the greens. Can't wait to get back out there some time. Also, try the BLT if you stop at the Outpost.
Tough day
4 Club wind the day we played this course left us with a poor impression of this track. The layout seemed good and the course seemed to be in fair shape but the intense wind did not make for a good impression of the true play-ability of this course. The day we played the club house was hosting a business meeting and that left no parking on the property for us.
Promo price was well worth it
We took advantage of a $31/pp rate, and that was well worth the value. I did not want to hit out of bunkers, but if I did the conditions were quality and maintained. the areas around greens were well maintained. Greens were very good condition. nothing to complain about. Hope to get back and try again.
