About
Rowlett’s first course has been laid out over a flat range of pasture, supplemented by 15 acres of lakes and over 1,000 new trees. Designed to be hacker friendly, the lack of mature trees provide an especially generous look and feel, tempting the mid-level handicapper to tee it up from the 7,191 yard tips and go long off the tee. Bent greens are the highlight of the round here–they roll true and provide solid opportunities to snake in a few long putts.
Getting there : Off of I-30 exit Dalrock Rd. and drive north through Hwy. 66. A half-mile past 66 veer left on Princeton, which dead-ends at Liberty Grove. Turn right into the Waterview division and take Waterview Pkwy. to the clubhouse

Drove 100 miles to this gc and got there 2 hours early to practice and when I payed and asked to add on a large bucket of balls they informed me that the driving range was closed due to maintenance. That was disappointing to not be able to practice before I played and around a lot of the greens it was soaking wet which screwed a bunch of my chipping shots around the green. There was No rain prior or during the game. They must have just overwatered. $41 for this golf game not my best purchase for golf this year for sure.
5+ hour round
Ridiculous pace of play ruined what was supposed to be a great day. Teed off at 11:10, made the turn at 2:00.
Ridiculous.
Course is in good shape. Lot of moisture and wet spots around the greens.
Course has seen better days
Have played this course 10+ times and this might be the worst shape I’ve seen it in. So many large cracks all over the course. I believe my playing partner lost a ball in a large crack near the green. Which some go very deep and you can’t find your ball of it goes in. Also allowed playing partner to hit another pitch near green bc ball hit a crack and got stuck. Fairways were also very dry. Had balls in fairway that were sitting on dead dry spots and dirt. Greens were is pretty good shape for summer time, but were a bit furry.
Pretty good course
The greens were the nicest part of the course. It reminded me of Plantation with the fairways running through the residential spread. The fairways were dried and cracked due to the change in weather and no water. Overall the course was okay.
Waterview GC review
The weather has changed here in Texas. It got a lot cooler the last few days, after a brutally hot, dry Summer.
There are cracks in the ground on almost every fairway. However most of them were shorter of the Tee than most people hit, so it was not an issue on most holes.
The Greens were in good shape, and most of the fairways were in pretty good shape as well.
All in all, it was a fun outing, esp. since I birdies 2 holes in a row-which is highly unusual for me!
Huge Cracks on Fairway
There are huge cracks on the fairway. I stepped in one and almost twisted my ankle. The marshal was very nice, the course is extremely long. I would play this course again when the cracks close up.
