Waterview Golf Club
About
Rowlett’s first course has been laid out over a flat range of pasture, supplemented by 15 acres of lakes and over 1,000 new trees. Designed to be hacker friendly, the lack of mature trees provide an especially generous look and feel, tempting the mid-level handicapper to tee it up from the 7,191 yard tips and go long off the tee. Bent greens are the highlight of the round here–they roll true and provide solid opportunities to snake in a few long putts.
Getting there : Off of I-30 exit Dalrock Rd. and drive north through Hwy. 66. A half-mile past 66 veer left on Princeton, which dead-ends at Liberty Grove. Turn right into the Waterview division and take Waterview Pkwy. to the clubhouse

Enjoyable
I have tried to play this course twice now and been run off by Thunderstorms each time. But I have now played both the front and back nines and I enjoy playing this track. It has enough length and layout challenges to provide a challenge to lower handicap players. The greens were in good condition but I would have loved for them to play much faster. I didn't play out of any bunkers but they looked to be in a playable state.
Under Construction
At least 6 holes had temporary tee boxes in the middle of the fairways. One par 4 was shortened to 180 yards, and a par 5 was under 400 yards. There were also a lot of dead trees that had been recently cut down and piled up in play. Easy to hit your ball into them. Range was in terrible shape. No grass to hit from and no mats. Also, the targets are round flat rocks or stumps. No markers to tell you how far away they are that I could find either.
That said, we only paid $25 for the round, plus the $6 to GolfNow and $8 more for a small bucket of balls. The green weren't bad. They were slow, but hard, so stopping the balls on the greens was tough. The rest of the course, the practice putting and chipping greens were good, and the staff was friendly.
Enjoyed the course, but staff is not very courteous.
Course staff drove their carts past our tee box and onto the hole twice while our group was teeing off... didn't wait (proper etiquette) ... or at least say anything/or alert us they needed to pass-through... they just drove onto the hole in the middle of my partner's swing... really?
Unfortunately, this is not the first time we experienced less than friendly staff at this course. Too bad, as the golf course is fun to play, with a good mixture of scoring and challenging holes.
Greens were sanded
They were redoing the course so we had to play the front nine twice the greens were sanded with very greedy sand so you could barely putt
Decent for conditions
I played here a few weeks ago and it was pretty good considering the drought and heat conditions. When I played Sunday the greens were Not as good because they were going to aerate the next day. They were trying their best to keep everything watered well, but the front of the green and fringe were pretty muddy. Will definitely come back in a few weeks or closer to fall. Thanks!
Great course it’s been about 5 years since I played this one but it one of the best in the area
Staff staff staff
My first impression was not great because pro shop worker had no personality at all which came off rude and was scary because that was the very first thing when we got there but honestly it was really nice other than the front desk worker the amenities and course are fabulous but a little dry but it is mid summer so that’s forgivable.
A really great time! Course is in great shape, which is an incredible feat after two months of drought. Staff was great. Cart girls were great! Just a great time!
