Waterview Golf Club
About
Rowlett’s first course has been laid out over a flat range of pasture, supplemented by 15 acres of lakes and over 1,000 new trees. Designed to be hacker friendly, the lack of mature trees provide an especially generous look and feel, tempting the mid-level handicapper to tee it up from the 7,191 yard tips and go long off the tee. Bent greens are the highlight of the round here–they roll true and provide solid opportunities to snake in a few long putts.
Getting there : Off of I-30 exit Dalrock Rd. and drive north through Hwy. 66. A half-mile past 66 veer left on Princeton, which dead-ends at Liberty Grove. Turn right into the Waterview division and take Waterview Pkwy. to the clubhouse

Incredibly Poor Condition
The greens were in terrible shape, the back nine closed and the tee box for number one was halfway done the fairway. The fairways are lumpy and there’s not one level tee box. This course needs to close and have a massive renovation. Even at the cheap price it’s no bargain. Pitiful
Won’t return
Just as the title says, I won’t be back! Where do I start???? Notification of a nine closed, who does the responsibility fall on the course or GolfNow? NO EXCUSE!!! Prepaid for hot deal that really wasn’t when you replay a nine. Back tee box on some holes still had debris from high winds yesterday. Small sign about nine closed on front door pretty sad. I’m a 5-capper & don’t appreciate not being aware of having to play a 9 twice before I arrive, so I’m out.
5 hour round
Hadn't had any rain in 2 days and the course was cart path only. I get courses need to dry up before people can drive on them or the fairways would be ruined. But apart from 2 holes, the course was fine to be driven on. Pace of play was 5 hours. And the kid in the pro shop had an attitude with the two groups checking in before me. Nice course but I won't be back.
Drainage and overhang
Greens were exceptional. Hard and fast, but in amazing condition.
The fairways were another story. We got 20 mins of rain the day prior and the fairways were sopping wet. Standing water on nearly every hole. The course just doesn’t drain.
Trees also need to be trimmed back. On 5 or 6 holes I had a ball in the right or right-center of the fairway (5-10 yards from the rough) and had to punch under tree limbs. Very frustrating.
Tee times were poorly managed. The starter asked us to pair up with another twosome, which was no problem. But it seems none of the groups behind us were asked to do the same. We let 3 twosomes and 2 singles play through. I’m a quick player and not accustomed to having groups breathing down my neck all day.
Beautiful course, immaculate greens. But I won’t be playing it again.
Haven’t seen a driving range in worse shape. No cart employee.
Back 9 Still Closed
Notes: The Back 9 is still closed (due to some work on a gas line?) for about a month now but with my 'Hot Deal' it only cost $12 (!) for 18 with a cart---so no complaints!!
- Bunkers looked good with fresh sand
- Greens are in really good shape---Fast and true!
- Rough is challenging to find a ball---the ball just sits down in it, so hitting the fairways (also in great shape) is a must.
-Tee boxes are 'fine' but at least not rock hard
Overall there's a fair amount of Risk/Reward in the course which is nice---when you're playing well you can go for it, and when not, play strategically.
Nice cool/windy/overcast day...
Not well known but worth playing
I hadn't heard of this course previously but am glad I played it. Greens and Fairways were in great shape and the bunkers had sand like you see in a PGA Tour event - white, smooth and firm. Layout is right there in front of you - no tricks.
