Waterview Golf Club
About
Rowlett’s first course has been laid out over a flat range of pasture, supplemented by 15 acres of lakes and over 1,000 new trees. Designed to be hacker friendly, the lack of mature trees provide an especially generous look and feel, tempting the mid-level handicapper to tee it up from the 7,191 yard tips and go long off the tee. Bent greens are the highlight of the round here–they roll true and provide solid opportunities to snake in a few long putts.
Getting there : Off of I-30 exit Dalrock Rd. and drive north through Hwy. 66. A half-mile past 66 veer left on Princeton, which dead-ends at Liberty Grove. Turn right into the Waterview division and take Waterview Pkwy. to the clubhouse

Great for a hot deal.
This course is great for a hot deal. Even without one the normal price is reasonable for this course. If you can get there early the pace of play will likely be fantastic. I got paired with another single and we finished in 2.5 hours.
The course itself is a good track. Some tough holes and a few that will make you feel better ;). In the fall/winter be ready to lose a few balls in the rough, nice and thick. The greens need some recovery, I'm told they are a year or two away from being back to form. They roll fairly true, but slower than you would expect as they're quite hard. There also seems to be a drainage issue. Around every green and various spots around the course you will unknowingly step into a marsh. On the approach you must know this or a shot into the fringe is likely to plug.
Otherwise this is a fun, well priced course. I've been considering their development program (players club), but it might just a bit to far away for me.
Swampy
Today I played for the second time since the course reopened. Both times the greens, many areas on the fairways and many places in general are just swampy. They’ve done a lot of work on the course but not sure the drainage was ever touched. No other course I play has this problem. Great layout, friendly staff but I can’t understand why the course seems like it was built below sea level or in a swamp.
Gman22
The course was in good shape the greens were really really bumpy today other than that we had a great time Pace was awesome
Back at Waterview
I hadn't played the course since last January. I like the improvement to the course such as the sand traps. But the greens were really bumpy and hard. But I look forward to playing in the spring once the greens have filled in. I do like the revamped range.
Needs some work
Greens a bit slow compared to past rounds. Course could use some care and feeding - will come back when Bermuda has chocked out other grass and weeds.
Bad shape
Wild grass on greens, greens overdue for replacement. Some of the new staff there has an attitude of I don’t care if you come here or not. Course in terrible condition. The back tee boxes are setup at the white tees now, but there is nothing being done to the two back tee boxes. This is the closest course to my house and I had not played it in several months, this is why.
ok but not great
The course layout is very good
green conditions - not so good - below average right now
still winter conditions
bunkers - wet and unplayable
pace of play great - caveat - we were the first ones off!
I will come back for hot deals - not regular pricing
2 guys I played were regulars and SUPER nice!
Rare Late January Round
My son and I played on a beautiful Sunday afternoon. This is our home course and had been playing here for 15 years until recently. I was shocked at the poor condition of the course compared to prior years.
The pace of play was tortuously slow. The Marshall was present a few times but wasn't concerned. It took 1.5 hours to play the first 4 holes.
The north wind provides a blast to your nostrils from the dump that will cause you to dry heave particularly on the back nine. I dont know how those people live in Waterview and deal with that smell.
We did manage to make the best of it and finished 16 holes before darkness set in.
Fantastic
For the middle of January the course was in great shape. The staff was very friendly which is unusual around here. Will definitely play here again.
Had the place to ourselves early
A cool morning with an early start, but the temps came up quickly and it turned out to be a perfect day for golf. We had the course to ourselves with an early tee time and never saw the group in front or the group behind us. Course was in good shape but still quite wet from all the rain. Greens were hard and fast. Turned out to be a great day of golf especially since we picked this tee time up as a hot deal.
Not Good
Staff was rude. My playing partner got there a head of me. We were in line and there was a man in between us and the guy at the desk motioned me up since i had made the reservation. So the guy that was ahead of me started mouthing off about being skipped. The guy checking us in should have spoken up since he motioned me up. On top of that we had a tee time and had been standing in line for 15 minutes due to a tournament that was starting much later. No one gives us a key to the cart. We finally get to tee box and starter asks us what time our tee time was and we were 3 minutes late to box. He tells us your late. We were like it took us 20 minutes to pay due to tournament. Well you are late. Greens were horrible. Tje guys checking people in every once in a while should have asked if anyone in line had a tee time and was not with tournament and git the non tournament people through the line.
Okay but not worth the money
The course has a nice layout, and is challenging. However, paying what we did for a weekend morning tee time, the greens are not in good shape at all. Dirt patches scattered across greens, very bumping to roll putts. Not that it’s their fault, but no one fixed their pitch marks. Most of the bunkers are not playable, there’s some large cracking spots in fairways. If better maintained would be a better value
Bent grass greens!!
Had a great time on this layout played many times. The greens were in fair to good shape just because of all the Ball marks that we let all over the greens. At least half of the bunkers needed some kind of work. We just raked and placed because the sand so hard and some of them.
