Waterview Golf Club

This used to be one of my favorite courses to play. It used to have the best greens in the area. The course has not been well maintained The greens rolll slow and not in good shape The greens are better on the back nine than they are on the front nine The practice area for chipping and the practice range are good. I would recommend the course only at a GolfNow hot deal rate of $25 or less.

Overall great time shot 68 from the blues it could have been better but left a few short. Greens were a slow and had to pound the putts to get there. But no complaints that’s golf adapt to the conditions.

Pace of play very slow due to tournament. I was not told of the tournament at time of booking. Not the friendliest pro shop staff.

Decided to get in a few holes after work. Course was clear and moving well. Much better shape than a month ago.

Course is still on the come back.It has improved a lot in the last month.The greens should be great in about a month.

Booked a foursome through golf now. One of the four was having rotator cuff problems and couldn't make it. Tee time was for a Sunday after 2pm. They charged me the extra green and cart fee for the fourth that couldn't make it. I've been to a hundred courses that would never complain about 3/4 showing up. When I called to ask if that was standard operating procedure I just got a bunch of "I don't know you'll have to contact the GM". I won't be back, I hope losing a customer was worth the 27 dollars to them.

This was at one time a great course. It is mismanaged. No ambassadors to keep play moving along at a normal pace. Greens are diseased and need replacing. Traps are horrible. Fairways need to be punched. City of Rowlett needs to get control of this now.

The course did not have carts available. I was in a group of 3 so I couldn’t share a cart with another customer. The cart I had lasted 3 holes. I called for another cart and they said none were available. I walked the final 15 holes carrying a heavy cart bag. Don’t own a stand bag. Saw other carts around the course that were abandoned with dead batteries also.

Did see three employees riding around the course but not enough carts for their customers. Never seen anything like this

My tee time was 12:20 pm and not at the end of the day when something like this could possibly happen

Course is currently under repairs, greens have a bunch of patching repair work and their is a large amount of standing water on a few of the fairways. I’m sure the course will be in better shape in the future.

I have played Waterview many times in the past. They traditionally have very nice, fast and well-conditioned greens. Unfortunately, the greens were in TERRIBLE condition. Lots of bare & burnt out spots and many with replacement sod patchwork. Several times, had to take a drop on the greens f

or ground under repair! Wood not to play out there again until spring or when the greens come back.

The greens are really suffering, especially on the front side. They are bad enough to take the fun out of putting. And, the fairways are covered in tight lies, even in the middle of the fairway. One bright spot, if you can call a bunker a bright spot, is that the bunkers were in pretty good shape; being full of sand of a good consistency. Maybe the greens and the fairways will be better as the weather gets colder - bent grass.

I used to play Waterview a lot just a few years ago and the conditions where always pretty good. But this time I have to say that the condition of the greens was really bad. They had just recently repaired several of the greens with new turf that was still growing in. A lot of the greens have dead patches that will cause your ball to hop. They've made a lot of course improvements like adding bunkers, ponds, trees and even new tee boxes. But that doesn't make up for really bad greens. You need to get them fixed and fast.

Played with friends from East Texas who had heard about the Club and wanted to play. Overall it was a good round - a course built in a housing development with homes surrounding the course (however, it didn't make for a "tight course" ) fairways were fairly generous and enough hills, traps, and water to just make it interesting. One caveat - the bent grass greens have been hit hard with a fungus resulting in a lot of "interesting" putts over bumpy bare areas on the greens - it generally made putting not a good experience. Disregarding the greens, the course is fair and suited for a wide range of golfers.

Greens were in horrible shape. Diseased, burnt up.
