Needs some TLC
This course looked like it has been neglected for a while. It would be a great place to play if the grass was groomed and the weeds cleared out of the bunkers.
Worst in Florida, I wouldn't recommend this to a fire ant and they were plenty.
I thought I saw a big golf courses until I visit Tomoka, I just can't say a good thing about them they were none except the guy at the desk was friendly.
Unkept
By far the worst course in the area. You could not tell the difference between the fairway. and the rough. Also there wasn’t any savings by using Golfnow. The price was the same.
No title
Coarse seems to be run down. To be fair the turf is much different than what im used to playing in Ontario or California. Other florida coarses and S Carolinia didnt look a lot different.
This place was not busy which suited us fine as novice players and we enjoyed ourselves. A couple groups caught up and we just let them play through no problem.
We started out with a warm up on the driving range.
We didn't finish till about 5 pm and the bar was closed so i was disappointed. Should have played faster.
I would recommend this coarse to someone looking for inexpensive golf , it was priced right .
Poorly Kept course
Very rough, poorly kept and in need of a cash infusion. Too bad because it's a nice layout.
Bargain basement
This could be a gem if it were maintained. The staff was great! People in the pro shop were so nice. The course was in rough shape. We got a great price but the course was in such terrible shape, I wouldn't go back.
Great Layout
Needs a lot of work. Bunkers bare, tee boxes unlevel ,debris from Irma still laying around, golf carts old and run down. But the layout was a gem in the rough. Long Par 4's and Par 5's. False front greens combined with their postage stamp size was challenging. For 12.00 it was very enjoyable.
Not bad for the money
Like the lay out wide fairways greens fair was a great course in its day not bad for the money will play again.
Poorly maintained course, but plays ok. Serene and quick round. Keep an open mind!!
Course neglected
Better than average design but not maintained. Not even worth $1 per hole. Disappointed
Redneck golf
Don't expect perfect grass or greens, this place has been neglected for some time, but if you want to have fun and not be rushed and still have some challenging holes ( nice par 5's and 4's) go play and enjoy
Worst course I've played.
Course. was extremely run down. Tee boxes bare ground and crab grass. Greens were terrible, with bare spots and holes in putting surfaces. Hard to tell fairways from rough. Golf carts sound and drive like they are coming apart. Not even worth $20 price of round.
Unkept
The course was probably okay 20 years ago but has severely suffered and not been well kept in recent years to a point that it was difficult to differentiate the fairways and the rough.
Dusty's Take
This course in my opinion has not see any serious maintenance in years, the fairways and the greens are overtaken with weeds and sand burrs. The fairways were almost unrecognizable uncut for weeks rough potted and full of ant hills. The sand traps had foot tall weeds growing in them and had not been maintained. The carts are very old and possibly dangerous, the steering on my cart had quarter turn slack in it.I would not recommend this course to my worst enemy.
Tomoka golf
Worse place a have ever seen! Maintence of the course is a complete zero! This course should not be on your location!
This is the worse course ever!!!!
By far the worse course I have ever played. The 4 inch tall grass on what should be fairway. Trees down from a hurricane over a year ago. That our on tee boxes. Mind you there is no marker for blue. White , gold or reds so guess your tee box position. An the cart paths are littered with so much debris you have to drive around to find the next hole....... feel sorry for the sponsors who paid to have there names on the marble markers..... 10$ for 18'holes was to much... never be back to this cow pasture.....wait I am sorry This is a straw pasture. I wouldn't let my cows. Definitely not my Horses or even my goats eat here.... keep on looking don't waste your time at this place.... oh mind. You the back 9 was closed when me and my brother played but we drove it to see why. An the back 9 home owners are doing better then the course owner/staff to make it better..... note to staff let people play back 9 it's better then the front 9... of you ever want more people playing there... you want A league? An members better start with a grounds keeping crew.. to get your course back in shape before you start paying people to play here... or even worse the city buys this course an you An your Legacy is lost... to a HOA. Come on guys tighten up an try just To. Care. About the place for 6 months an see what happens.. as per me. I will be back to try an see what An if you took the survey seriously. See in February or March. To see if you can be proved wrong! Or if your out just letting this historical course An property go to ruins.
I agree the course is and has been in pretty bad shape for a while now and it will take a lot of money to get it back to it glory, but lets get some facts straight here. Yes there was a hurricane a year ago but there also was a hurricane ONE WEEK prior to this guys play date. Many courses in the area closed because of it, some for 2+ weeks. It takes time to clean up after a hurricane and the likelihood is the back nine was closed so they could concentrate on cleaning that side up first. As for only paying $10 to play...well you get what you pay for. Now i'm not associated with the course in any way, but I play here probably every other month because i'm local and like the layout and it's cheap. It took a long time to clear all the felled trees from last year but once they got that done and were able to take care of the course somewhat, it was not perfect but playable.
Not worth the cost
I've seen poor courses in my time but this course had to be the poorest maintained course I've had the misfortune to play.

worst cow pasture i have ever played. even the cows wouldn't eat the weeds on the fairway. greens lacking grass, tee boxes lacking markers ,signage bad. too top it off cart died on 18th tee box. and they had the nerve to charge you to play there. No staff, no clubhouse, lacking pro shop.
course should be closed
